Hurrican Gustav Was a Let Down

by admin on September 2, 2008

Anyone get the feeling that reporters were desperately looking for victims on roof tops and trudging through the water? Even little green footballs casually predicted this hurricane wouldn’t be as bad as initially thought, that didn’t prevent the media from trying to find disaster. Just think about it,

what would be better than to have a bunch of poor minorities, which is code word for blacks, standing on roof tops waving signs of help me, while the GOP is kicking off there convention?

The problem with this hurricane as I saw, was if anything an over reaction. Of course, in the eyes of liberals, there is always something to be said, critically about any response from republicans. Here we have the huffington post saying Republicans used the hurricane to politicize the issue and gain face time.

So there we have it. Either the republicans do a dismal job of reacting to a disaster, or they over prepare because it raises their poll numbers. Unbelievable.

Personally, I don’t have any sympathy for the people of New Orleans. If you want to continue living in a place that is below sea level, then go ahead. Just don’t expect me to bail you out every time a thunderstorm comes through. I also wouldn’t of rebuilt after Katrina, I found it to be a colossal waste of money, I think time will tell what a mistake that was.
