Lack of Passion in These Elections

by TheOperative on August 12, 2008

Honestly, who is passionate about John Mccain being our Republican candidate? As a marketer I look for the tell tale signs, literally. And that’s the problem there aren’t any. Little to no lawn signs at least in my area, South Florida. This is in stark contrast to 2000 or even 2004 when Bush/Cheney signs and bumper stickers could be seen everywhere. Obviously this is not a scientific way of determining the viability of a candidacy, but its things like this that the regular Joe looks for. Regular Joes being the idiots on the so-called undecided fence.

Conversely, I don’t see as many Obama signs as I should, at least for all the hype he is supposedly causing. So it seems then, if this is the case, that come November, we will all be voting against the other person and not for anyone. Well, at least you all will, I for one refuse to vote for John Mccain and with it the death nail of the conservative movement. I will instead be voting for a fictional character or maybe even write in Ronald Reagan’s name.

Even around the internet, there is little passion for Mccain, sites like these are trying to sign up pro Mccain blogs, something that wreaks of desperation. I should clarify, there is plenty of talk about Mccain, but mostly against him. It seems the left is convinced that he truly is a 3rd Bush term, we should be so lucky.  I guess, it serves their purpose of rousing their Obamadroids. Some have gone as far as to suggest that there are operatives suppressing negative stories of Mccain. Laughable.

It is a sad election year when the choices we have are as pathetic as this. The silver lining in the cloud is that Iraq seems to finally be stabilized and our troops can come home soon.

For those that may criticize me for not voting for Mccain, all I can say is that sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. Remember, following the absolute catastrophe of the Jimmy Carter years, we got Ronnie.
