there appears to be no truth to the claim made by the commenter, and no further documentation or support for this has turned up.

The "banned books list" includes books that were published after 1996 (like Harry Potter).

The librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons (now Baker), was not fired [10] but instead resigned [4] in August 1999, two months before Palin was voted into her second term.

We ask Mr. Obama to denounce these smears and to remove them from his website immediately.

Yup. The venom-spitting and hate-filled Dems are so dead set in their crusade against this commander-in-chief of Alaska and mother of five that it will actually never matter if any of the accusations levelled againster her are ever true. Once they are introduced into the public domain, others in the liberal media (i.e.- Obama's campaign staff) take them and run with them, no matter that they have all been debunked or disproven almost immediately after their "discovery." You sad, sad people. We would feel bad that you have to go through this with no other real options, but then again we know that you have no real moral or ethical qualms about behaving this way, as long as you can destroy a human being just because you saw her on TV with a little (R) next to her name instead of a little (D).

As far as the book-burning nonsense goes, I think this column right HERE goes a long way to prove that Sarah America does not regularly dance around a trash can full of burning books with a bible in one hand and a machine gun in the other, which is apparantly how deranged libs are thinking of her once they are infected with PDS.
