Wasilla Resident gives honest opinion of Sarah Palin
Hmm turns out she really did try to ban books. And most of he responsibilities as mayor were delegated to an administrator after her party decided she was doing a bad job.

Ive yet to even look in on what you posted wrt to that whole thing.
I dont take you seriously, and what you post even less seriously given your rabid need to attack and attack. Reminds me of the good people who compare Bush to Hitler, or the nice Drive by trolls who make 2 or 3 negative posts and disappear.
Really, you bore me.

RD, while the letter is legitimate, I have some experience with letters like this. You cannot trust the credibility of the writer. A woman in my larger small town, who is much less eloquent than this one, also spends time at our City Council meetings. She asks questions, gets answers, and then writes letters to the editor. They are often just plain wrong -- Other times, she interprets things in the most heinous, unrealistic way possible. If my mayor were named Obama's or McCain's VP pick (really he could go either way), this woman would have a letter out all over the Internet. It would inaccurately portray my mayor and his values, possibly to the same level of accusing him of threatening to fire someone if x didn't happen....
I take this letter with that grain of salt. We need to hear corroborating stories coming out of Wasilla before we can begin to trust this story. Someone needs to ask that librarian point blank whether Palin threatened to fire her. It is absolutely common for residents to just not understand what's going on at City Hall."They are like a corrosive Fifth Column on this Forum. Presumably, Nut Job is the putative leader of this Liberal column, and I guess Reagan Girl is the mother superior of the bunch."

According to news coverage at the time, the librarian said she would definitely not be all right with it. A few months later, the librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, got a letter from Palin telling her she was going to be fired. The censorship issue was not mentioned as a reason for the firing. The letter just said the new mayor felt Emmons didn't fully support her and had to go.
Emmons had been city librarian for seven years and was well liked. After a wave of public support for her, Palin relented and let Emmons keep her job.

Seems like this woman knew what she was talking about.Last edited by Registered_Democrat; 09-06-2008 at 02:49 PM.

I can give you letters where the writers "seems" to know what they're talking about making my town sound like a wasteland destroyed by a vicious good ol' boy network.
And I also think you'll find a number of letters from people who know Palin just as well in support of her. I read two on the Frontiersman's site. One was against and one for Palin.
I'll keep my grain of salt about this letter writer."They are like a corrosive Fifth Column on this Forum. Presumably, Nut Job is the putative leader of this Liberal column, and I guess Reagan Girl is the mother superior of the bunch."

Sure the letter was real but as we can see the letter was a smear job by some one who hates her. For all I know the whole thing was a put up Job by those on the left as to give credibility.
Also many of the things in the letter are wrong. The only truth I coud see was that Palin did give money back to the citizens, something you would not see from democrats.
