Sanford's affair a political victory for Romney, Huckabee

In the past 10 days, potential GOP pres. hopefuls Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina and Sen. John Ensign of Neveda have admitted to affairs. Both men were considered possible presidential hopefuls in the 2012 election. I often wrote that I felt Sanford was a serious contender. Well, he isn't anymore. John Ensign went from no chance to no chance in hell. This serves as a political victory for former governors Romney and Huckabee. Romney is the GOP front-runner in my view, and Sanford is one less person Romney will have to beat. Huckabee would have competed with Sanford to win the South Carolina primary, but now its almost inevitable that Huckabee will win the South Carolina primary in 2012.

    Winners of the day politically:
    Mitt Romney
    Mike Huckabee

    Losers of the day politically:
    Mark Sanford
    The South Carolina GOP
    The RGA
    Republicans

I'm voting for Alice Cooper in 2012.

Sanford & Ensign are the losers here.

Romney is still a Liberal who became a Conservative on Thursday.
Huckster is still a Liberal snake oil salesman.

The evidence that these 2 are bad candidates is your belief that other Conservatives need to fall in scandal for your guys to appear viable.

Another winner is Palin, but I guess in your eyes she's not allowed to be a winner, since she likes unions and raises taxes!!

Just out of curiousity do you have a prefered candidate for 2012?

Alice's platform outlined in "Elected" (1972)

I'm your top prime cut of meat, I'm your choice
    I wanna be elected
I'm your yankee doodle dandy in a gold Rolls Royce
    I wanna be elected
Kids want a savior, don't need a fake
    I wanna be elected
We're gonna rock to the rules that I make
I wanna be elected, elected, elected
I never lied to you, I've always been cool
    I wanna be elected
I gotta get the vote, and I told you about school
I wanna be elected, elected, elected
    Hallelujah, I wanna be elected
Everyone in the United States of America
We're gonna win this one, take the country by storm
    We're gonna be elected
You and me together, young and strong
We're gonna be elected, elected, elected
    Respected, selected, call collected
    I wanna be elected, elected

The only candidate I would have been pleased voting for last time was Fred Thompson. He won't run in 2012 so that won't be an option.

There are several I could vote for even though I would not have much hope for revolutionary change if they won.

    Sarah Palin
    Duncan Hunter
    Michelle Bachmann
    Elizabeth Cheney

My attraction to Thompson was because he was the ONLY GOP candidate to say that the greatest threat to America was the Demoncrat's.

That is what I am looking for and I have not found a candidate yet (other than Thompson) who holds that view.

I have vowed to NOT vote for any candidate who utters the phrases:
"I know the two sides disagree on many things but I will seek out the common ground and find a way to work with the Demoncrats"
    Or
"You catch more fly's with sugar than with vinegar"
    Or
"I will reach across the isle and change the tone"

Any candidate that utters those ideas in any form will not get my vote.
The Demoncrats have declared war on Conservatives, The Constitution and The totality of historic America. I want them defeated, not appeased.

Romney & The Huckster are everything that I won't support, they both are either extreme Liberals or are willing to compromise with extreme Liberals in the interest of expediency.
    I condemn both motivations equally.
Don't get me wrong, I believe there are historic times when compromise and statesmanship were appropriate and will be again.
I also believe there are historic times that demand a fight and we are in one such time right now.

Our time requires a no compromise, merciless fighter, there is nothing about Romney or the Huckster that makes them a good choice for a fight like that.

I wish I had some great Conservative candidate to stump for in 2012 but the only two I am positive about are Dick Cheney & Fred Thompson, 2 guys who will NOT be running in 2012.

I will be watching very closely, looking for the candidate with thick skin & a balled up fist.

I can only imagine that there will be others that fall over the time of the road to 2012. It's just a matter of who.
