Woman Faces 5 Years for Breastfeeding While Drunk

North Dakota officials prosecuted a new mother, 26-year-old Stacey Anvarinia, for breastfeeding while intoxicated. Police charged the Grand Forks mother after receiving a domestic disturbance call and witnessing her nursing her 6-week-old daughter. Officers say she appeared drunk, but there’s no report of her blood alcohol content. They booked her on child neglect charges.

Now, before anyone gets up in arms about privacy and whatnot, let me explain something. Megyn Kelly did an investigation on this last night on FOX and here's what this article is NOT reporting... When the police went to this chick's house and she answered the door, she was holding the baby upside down by it's leg. She was also shaking the baby when it started to cry. The police could see she was clearly drunk so they took the baby away from her. PLUS, this chick has been arrested 27 times in the past 6 years! It was painfully clear that she was not a fit mother and the child was in danger.

The breastfeeding wasn't part of the issue at all - in fact, it appears she wasn't even nursing it, but rather abusing it, when the police came to the door.

I'm not sure if they actually witnessed her breastfeeding or not, but I read somewhere that she basically told the cops, (paraphrasing) "Yeah I was drunk and breastfeeding, what are you gonna do arrest me?"

Well, generally "Bible thumpers" aren't thought of as drunks, who dangle their children from one leg.... I mean, they catch a lot of flack, but that's a stretch.
