First of all, I don't think you can tell when the condom breaks. But also, premarital sex isn't just something kids do. What about 25-30 year olds?

I can't imagine a parent not discussing something of such importance with their children.

Huh. Well, I could be remembering wrong, but I'm pretty sure they never talked to me about that. Although, my mom did talk to me about HPV, but that's all. Although at this point because of sex-ed, I probably know more about STDs than they do...

And what does it benefit you to know all the details about STD's?

Because if you don't, you may take them far less seriously.

1. As I understand it, it was known by my sister's husband when my niece was conceived.
2. A lot fewer of them would be doing so if they weren't encouraged/pressured to do so in youth.

Have you ever seen a picture of someone's STD-afflicted genitals? It makes you want to become a nun.

2. How do you know that?

I am thinking all this proves is that the abstinence only taught kids aren't honest. lol
JK I don't know how accurate things like that are.
I do know that abstinence programs have been embraced by a couple of African Nations and they have found great results. Along with teaching crazy men that having sex with a virgin will not rid them of AIDS....all of this teaching and education together has decreased the HIV/AIDS rates in huge numbers for a couple of these countries. One of the best examples is Uganda. There were a couple other nations watching to see how this abstinence education would work for them first. It worked. Even the UN couldn't keep the secret.
If it can work so well in countries like Uganda it can work here.

Pretty much the same way that I know I would drown if I were shackled to a 100 lb. anchor and dropped into the Mariana trench in the Pacific, even though I've never tried it nor known anyone who did.

Umm... I disagree that it's common sense to assume that people who have premarital sex were pressured into it. I was just wondering if you had any definitive proof of that statement.
Most Americans have had premarital sex, study finds - USATODAY.com
"Of those interviewed in 2002, 95% reported they had had premarital sex; 93% said they did so by age 30. Among women born in the 1940s, nearly nine in 10 did."
I find it difficult to believe that 90+ percent of Americans were all pressured into having premarital sex. Also, given the number of people I know who have had premarital sex and are also in perfectly happy, healthy relationships, I'm inclined to think that it's not a bad thing at all.
