Iran became and Islamic state in 1979, but it embrasced Islam durring the Islamic Conquest of Persia (637-651). It embraced Shia'ism durring the the Safavid dynasty. It is the home of the largest Shia population in the world. In the Islamic community Shia'ism is synomous with Iran. It harbors the majority of the world's Shia's and is ruled by the most fundamentalist of the fundamentalist Islamicist in the world.

I translate that to say. Iran is a grave threat to us and we would do
well to open our eyes.

Her sect doesn't tie their beliefs to land in such a militaristic maner. However, her sect was declared illegal by the present government of Iran. Christians in Iran were less oppressed than her sect.

The democrats should have learned that from Hitler when Europe ignored him for so long and actually listened to him in their negotiations. But they didn't. So they're doomed to repeat history.
