Oprah Refuses: Palin Won't Be On

Looks like TheOprah has been caught in a dilemma...
She won't have Sarah on but she already has had Hussein on the show.
Zee ol double standard lefty trick, eh?

OPRAH'S STATEMENT: "The item in today's Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."

BIG DILEMMA: OPRAH BALKS AT HOSTING SARAH PALIN; STAFF DIVIDED
Fri Sep 05 2008 08:55:46 ET

Oprah Winfrey may have introduced Democrat Barack Obama to the women of America -- but the talkshow queen is not rushing to embrace the first woman on a Republican presidential ticket!

Oprah's staff is sharply divided on the merits of booking Sarah Palin, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

"Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on," an insider explains. "Oprah's website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama."

One executive close to Winfrey is warning any Palin ban could ignite a dramatic backlash!

It is not clear if Oprah has softened her position after watching Palin's historic convention speech.

Last year, Winfrey blocked an appearance by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, timed to a promotional tour of his autobiography.

Oprah and executive producer Sheri Salata, who has contributed thousands of dollars to Obama's campaign, refused requests for comment.

In Oprahs defence it is her show, and this isn't a news program she has the right to have anyone she wants on. She isn't required by anyone to have Sarah on at the end of the day really

I like Oprah. She is a entertaining, sincere person who has done alot of good. I just don't agree with her attitude when it comes to politics.

Sarah doesn't need to go on Oprah anyway. She's too good for that show.

That doesn't surprise me. Oprah has always told her viewers how to think. This is no different. She is in no way about honest debate. And I don't know of anyone anymore that watches her show.

Well, she already endorsed barry. Why would she undercut her man?

We don't hear the Liberals demanding that she adhere to the "fairness doctrine", do we?

I can't imagine why Sarah would want to be on that show; would Oprah even treat her fairly? I've never watched Oprah, so I don't really know. She might just try to make her look bad. Of course, unless someone turned Sarah's mike off, it would probably backfire, and I can see why Oprah wouldn't want that. Although it looks like not having her might even hurt Oprah some, though I doubt it will have a lot of effect.

Yet she endorsed BHO and had him on her show!
And now refuses Palin similar air time.

Is she using the show as a political platform or not?

I used to watch Oprah many years ago but as her character came more evident to me I stopped watching. She is getting more radicalized just as we saw with Phil Donahue.

She is on her way of going just like Phil Donahue who she drove off the air. She has exhibited racism in the past and right now we do not know if it is a mix of racism and being a democrat that makes her not want Palin.

True it is her show but since shows are rating driven you would think she would have Palin on.

Sure she has done good as well but as in all things people get tired of seeing the same old thing.

Oprah has lost her way once she started becoming a political kingmaker.
Bit of a shame as at one time she did have something to offer. Now she is what she is...

Yes, too many people "try" to look non partisan but always become political. Makes one wonder why that phrase "non partisan" is even in the english language.

Yep, and Obama has NEVER flip floped. John Kerry has NEVER flip floped.

Oprah is likely afraid that Ms. Palin would argue rings around her. The left has a history of this kind of stuff. Take Barry Manilow, for instance. He refused to appear on "The View", because he didn't want to be interviewed by Elisabeth Hasselback:

Quote:

Unfortunately, the show was not willing to accommodate this simple request so I bowed out. It’s really too bad because I’ve always been a big supporter of the show, but I cannot compromise my beliefs. The good news is that I will be on a whole slew of other shows promoting the new album so I hope you can catch me on those.”
However, sources close to “The View” claim Manilow is lying.
Sources told “Access” the show is the one who canceled the booking because they would not allow the “Copacabana” singer to dictate who would interview him.

Look HERE for the whole scoop.

Man I am so proud of Elisabeth Hasselback with the way she sticks to her guns (most of the time) against the, (rhymes with witches).

That would be poetic justice.

Oprah is saying in effect, "Sarah, you're not good enough to be on my show." Sarah would be saying, "Oprah, your show is not good enough for me to be on."

The Dems want the fairness doctrine - wouldn't that force Oprah to have Sarah on her show after having had Obama?
