    Bailing out the Mets and Central American banks.

    The Citigroup bailout;
    Citigroup Buys Banco Uno
    The largest US bank, Citigroup, purchased Grupo Financiero Uno, which has a presence in Central America, according to an announcement by the company.

    The amount of the transaction was not stated, and it is subject to approval by regulatory agencies.

    Grupo Uno owns Banco Uno and Aval Card in Costa Rica. It also has operations in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador. It has a capital of us2.1 billion dollars and over 1 million clients, principally in credit cards, 75 branches, 100 offices and points of sale.
    Citigroup Buys Banco Uno
    On another note Citi is paying for the naming rights to the Mets stadium. So again the American taxpayer is effectively paying for the Mets "20-year, $400 -million naming rights deal."
    Citigroup sheds workers, keeps Mets deal -- Newsday.com
    So US taxpayers are effectively bailing out THE WORLD.

    Citi bought the naming rights long before the economic crisis from what I heard. They won't be allowed to cancel the contract according to the stadium owner(s)...

    Yeah! Then conquer Me'h'ico, Canada, and the rest of South America starting with Venezuela. Then we conquer Europe, except France-we just kill off all the Frenchies to keep from polluting the gene pool any further.... and so on.

    Bailouts are generally not a good idea, unless they result in more fluid credit availability.
