Citigroup Bailout is a GO
Citigroup secures government lifeline - Nov. 23, 2008
What was that sound? The sound of the national debt getting larger again? Please allow me to express my feelings in a manner that won't let me get banned. $#^(%@^(#%#&$(^$@#&%#$&#@^%$#!%!#IOUSA$%@#$%#@$%@# $%@#$^^%@#$%NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The U.S. government on Sunday announced a massive rescue package for Citigroup - the latest move to steady the banking giant, whose shares plunged in the past week on fears about its exposure to toxic mortgage securities.
The plan has two key features:
First, the U.S. Treasury and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will backstop some losses against more than $300 billion in troubled assets.
Second, the Treasury will make a fresh $20 billion investment in the bank. The government has already injected $25 billion into Citigroup as part of the $700 billion bailout passed by Congress in October. The heavens, in their countless stars, hold answers to earthly mysteries. Might, then, the wise, and the lucky, gaze up and find truth?

get ready for an Earth shattering KABOOM
because I too , agree with you.John Adams, 2nd President and signer of the Declaration of Independence warned:
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Is it time to grab our pitchforks yet?
"No statement is more unnecessary than the statement that the government should 'do something' about some issue. Politicians are going to 'do something,' whether or not something needs to be done, and regardless of whether what they do makes matters better or worse. All their incentives are to keep themselves in the public eye." - Thomas Sowell

Islam is a religion of murder and violence as practiced by Islamofascists. The rest of the Muslims are just too afraid of the Islamofascists to say much about it. The MSM ignores the ones that do.

That mental picture of a pig flying out of your butt is rather amusing if I do say so myself.
I've been against the bailouts from the beginning however. In my mind it's outright theft of my hard earned money. Any politician that agree's with these bailouts is not representing the will of the majority (70% in fact! It's not like it's a slim majority either!) and in my mind should be FIRED be they Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian, whatever. The heavens, in their countless stars, hold answers to earthly mysteries. If major financial institutions abruptly collapsed, it would have a deleterious effect on the broad economy, however we already have a mechanism to prevent the abrupt collapse of companies. It's called Chapter 11. At the most, we might need the government to provide debtor in possession (DIP) financing (since credit markets have indeed seized up), but we don't need a bail out. All that a bail out will do is to allow the shareholders to preserve their stakes (courtesy of Uncle Sam) without having to do any real restructuring.

Let's bailout the bailout.
The bailout is too big to fail.
