The lastest Holiday Offense: We must ban Rudolph and Santa

I was listening to Dennis Prager talk about this last week on his radio show while driving around in CA. He was told and then later confirmed that the song, "Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer", was actually written by a Jewish songwriter.

Talk about irony.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was almost grounded at Murrayville Elementary School this week after a parent complained about the classic Christmas song’s inclusion in her daughter’s upcoming kindergarten concert.

The objecting parent was upset about the words “Christmas” and “Santa” in the song, feeling that they carried religious overtones.

That prompted the song to be pulled from the upcoming holiday concert, which in turn upset more parents.

That's what's funny about America. They are willing to upset many Christians for one atheist, but aren't willing to upset one atheist for many Christians.

The thing that gets my Scottish nature cooking is these "YO YO'S" who say they hate Easter,Thanksgiving, Christmas and all the other religious holidays but will run all over you to get out of the workplace to get home on holiday. Why don't they work those days since they dont like them.?? Can I get an "AMEN" on that???

That's stupid. Santa and Rudolph have nothing to do with religion. Still, I don't see why they couldn't've done a Chanukah song.

Actually, Santa does have something to do with religion, but he is so far departed from the original story to be recognizable.

As for a Chanukah song - I'd have no problem with that - Jesus celebrated Chanukah, why should I have a problem with that?? In fact, I've got a Menorah, myself, but the candles that are supposed to be used in it don't fit snugly enough, and it's a bear to make them stick.

P.S. It's one thing to miss with Santa, but NEVER EVER mess with Rudolph. I mean, come on! Rudolph has a bright red-nose and is about the cutest creature you can find. It's like messing with Elmo, quite frankly!!!
