Obama's Town Meeting in Florida
Why is he having a so-called "town meeting" in Florida while the Senate seeks to pass the stimulus bill?
He is reminding the people of Florida with the same words in his campaign promise: His promise to help our economy recover".
Blaming, of course, the failed belief's of the last 8 years. It's the same talk over and over again; "what got us here in the first place".
He is speaking particularly about the housing crisis.
Apparently, Florida has the #1 highest foreclosure rate in America. Does he blame the financial institutions that failed? No. Basically, he continues to shift the blame on the Republican party.
Am I wrong to assume he has an agenda holding the meeting in Florida?Longevity - Living in the race. Taisa Ra'furu

It really doesn't matter. His town hall in Indiana was a TOTAL flop. No one was sold on his crap. All those stimulus parties were total flops also. The show for the stimulus is pretty much over.

Barack O would do anything to get this passed. It's curious that he blames the "failed policies of the past eight years" because those policies were leftist. He complains that he's inherited this horible debt and yet he's about to push the largest debt in our countrys history. Didn't he vote to spend, spend, spend? It was his party that pushed banks to loan unqualified people mortgages. His party is the reason we are in this situation.
This is nothing more than a power grab and that is it! He's such a liar!

Today, Rush mentioned on his show (and reminded me) that while Obama was in the Senate, he voted for every one of the "failed polices of the past eight years" that got us into the current financial mess. Of course, THAT won't be mentioned on the news tonight and Bawney Fwank gets to keep his cushy job that created the Fannie/Freddie fiasco. Foxes in charge of the hen house.

Michelle Malkin Obama’s Ft. Myers revival meeting; Update: Henrietta and Julio videos added
I can't get over the fact that this really isn't out of character for Obama if you look at his background and his associations. He covered his liberal tracks enough to fool people who didn't pay much attention but its not like he took an abrupt left turn when he took the oath of office.

What will happen when the Obamabots find out they have been conned or at least "over promised". Expectations are outta this world.
“The mood inside Harborside turned somber when Henrietta Hughes took the microphone and in a cracking voice pleaded for help.
‘We need our own kitchen and our own bathroom,’ she said in tears. ‘Please. We need help.’”
But Henrietta was not alone in asking for a handout (and a toilet); she just had a low number..Wouldn’t President Obama himself have to wonder how so many deadbeats had so much free time in the middle of a workday to ask for so much free stuff?
Rhetorical question: he got exactly what he wanted. What better way to sell a welfare bill than appeal directly to welfare cases?

Exactly which failed policies did Obama vote in favor of? Can you name them for reference? And how could he have voted for every one over the last eight years when he wasn't a Senator for all those eight years?
Or should we just trust that blanket statement is true because a radio entertainer says so?

You're saying the bailout that was voted for only just months ago is the failed policy that got us into the economic mess we are in?
Come on. What are the failed policies that got us into this mess that Obama voted in favor of? Or, do we just not want to deal with the messiness of specifics?

In his brief tenure in the senate, Obama scored more campaign cash from Fannie/Freddie than all but two other Senators (Chris Dodd and....name escapes me at the moment.) One of the Obama campaign's economic advisors was Franklin Raines who was a political appointment to the head of Fannie and took home an obscene amount of cash in salary and incentives, incentives that were paid out as the result of fraudulent accounting.
The collapse of the these GSEs were the 'epicenter' of the market freeze and economic slow down.
Obama also has very stong ties to organizations like ACORN which among other things (like mass/gross voter fraud) operated as a shakedown organization to force lending institutions to issue high risk mortgages. The federal government, via GSEs, condoned and promoted this behavior and was allowed to do so by the officials allegedly charged with overseeing these entities....like Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, both of whom, along with Obama, were the biggest recipients of campaign cash.
We could delve into the depths of Obama's ties to 'affordable housing' and Tony Resko in the chicago area next, I suppose.
