Thread: Judd Gregg backs out

Well, I do agree that Gregg's statement was pretty awful and he basically prostrated himself before the great One. He could have shown defernce to the office of president and stated hope for the future properity of the country without basically saying "the country will be better off with Obama as president even if I disagree with him"
But then again, I think we're splitting hairs here. We didn't exactly sack the QB, strip the ball and run it back for a touchdown but we did force them to punt.

He could have kept his mouth shut and went along with Barry's agenda like a wimpy RINO, but he had the guts to quit like a good RINO should.
(second thought, I don't think there IS a good RINO)

Okay TX (I'm only shortening that username for casual convenience) I shall grudgingly yield that point if you'll allow that we should not allow such behavior to delude us into accepting liberal/moderate RINOs as real conservative Republicans. Mr, Gregg has a long way to go to gain kudos from me, but that's just me!
Btw TX, has anybody ever told you that you bear a striking resemblance to that actor...oh! damn olde whats-his-name now....Last edited by doctorhugo; 02-13-2009 at 03:29 PM.

It wasnt so much that he was trying to suck up, IMO he was just being polite, the way politicians used to be, back around the post revolution days. The 'I may not agree with what you say' era, which has been pretty well lost today. +5 for civility, -3 for word choice perhaps?

I almost would have liked him to have gone along with it, but worked from the inside to mess stuff up whenever he could. Man on the inside thing which I think was mentioned earlier. He probably had a bit of that on his mind, but realized it wasnt going to pan out like he wanted it to.

What you unintentionally acknowledge is the diametrically opposed positions we have come to in the current political debate and mantra. Given that..., one must choose a side and advocate, with devout consistency, to the best of his ability for such. The squeamish who wave the white flag in the middleground are destined to be what we call "collateral damage" in military parlance. 'Can't we just kiss and makeup and work together?' is his attitude. When the other guy has a Rahm Emmanuel as his chief advisor it's kill or be killed.
I can think of no better example of that than this cry-baby. Here we have a guy that everyday tells you all about the horrible agendas the lefties are foisting upon us with The False Messiah at the helm and then in the next breath he implores us to stop partisan polarizing and bickering. This clown and those of his ilk DO NOT GET IT. Join the march or be trampelled underfoot. That's called reality.
