Letterman's offensive remarks about Sarah and Willow Palin

As many of you have no doubt read, David Letterman made unbelievably offensive and insulting remarks regarding Sarah Palin and her daughter Willow. Rather than just rant on about it, I suggest a grass-roots effort to let CBS know how we feel. I think that we should write to CBS (rather than just send an easily deleted e-mail that some intern probably checks) and demand either an apology or suspension/cancellation of Letterman's show. It's outrageous that he would make such comments, but it's even worse that CBS will, most likely, do nothing about it unless people protest.

I went to CBS' corporate website (not just the CBS entertainment one) to find out exactly to whom I should write.

Nancy Tellem is listed as the President of CBS Television Studios Entertainment Group. Nina Tassler is listed as the president of CBS Entertainment. I'm not certain if these are the proper people to contact for this matter, but they might be a good place to start. If anyone has more accurate info. about who should receive such complaints, feel free to post it here. These were just the people listed on the corporate website who seem to fit.

We know that if a conservative had said anything remotely as offensive, the left would call for their heads. It's time we stand up and show that we're outraged over these crass comments by David Letterman, who was once a funny guy, but is now just an angry and bitter (and unfunny) liberal.

I disagree. The media hates bad press and if we frame this for what it is (insulting comments about a woman and her teenage daughter), we could at the very least flood their mailroom and possibly get a public apology. That's a longshot at this point, but the more people who voice their outrage, the better our chances.

As for "The DaVinci Code" and "Last Temptation of Christ," those were movies that people had to pay to see what the fuss was about. In this case, this is a TV show that's already been broadcast and is on the Internet and on the news. We need to make CBS ashamed to be associated with the jerk Letterman.

Not at all, its lazy writing. But its just a joke, and will keep happening. I dont agree with the content of the joke, but I'll defend peoples right to tell that joke. Even when Barack Obamas girls get to that age...
