Obama's $3.8 Trillion Budget Heading to Congress

So much for that "spending freeze".
WASHINGTON - The Obama administration on Sunday endorsed spending an additional $100 billion to attack painfully high unemployment as it prepared to send Congress a $3.8 trillion budget that would provide billions more to pull the country out of the Great Recession while increasing taxes on the wealthy and imposing a spending freeze on many government programs.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the administration believed "somewhere in the $100 billion range" would be the appropriate amount for a new jobs measure made up of a business tax credit to encourage hiring, increased infrastructure spending and money from the government's bailout fund to get banks to increase loans to struggling small businesses.

That price tag would be below a $174 billion bill passed by the House in December but higher than an $83 billion proposal that surfaced last week in the Senate.

Gibbs said it was important for Democrats and Republicans to put aside their differences to pass a bill that addresses jobs, the country's No. 1 concern. "I think that would be a powerful signal to send to the American people," Gibbs said in an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union."

I think he is secretly trying to sabotage the next administration. Like an employee who's been given his pink slip trying to trash the place on his way out.

Normally I don't think of someone being that selfish (even for a politician), but it seems that it's becoming more apparent as time goes on. This guy and his liberal pals really do follow the "never let a crisis go to waste" line. If he's not doing this for selfish purposes, then his entire team of economists need to be kicked out because they're offering really poor ideas.

I thought Bush's spending was bad, but this is going beyond absurd. Keep in mind that the spending plan has to go through Congress, so if its initial proposal is at $3.8 trillion, it could come out higher when it lands on the President's desk.

    Also, anyone remember this chart?

Those Bush numbers are going to look like tiny blips pretty soon. Which is ridiculous, because Bush pushed for a lot of government spending under his term (like Medicare Part D).

WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING SPENDING NEARLY FOUR TRILLION Dollars OF OUR MONEY, My Kids Money, My grand kids money etc. I am sick and tired of our federal government spending money like it's candy it is time that WE THE PEOPLE lay down the hammer on this, we must start NOW. If I was President the shortfall would be a $#@*% smaller than this bozo. I am so angry over this.

And out of the other side of his mouth, he says Americans have to start living within their means and that spending must be frozen.

Well, Mr. Messiah, how about it?

Hmmm...this is a duplicate thread. Merging them.

No wonder I couldn't find it. I clicked on the thread title and got a message that I must specify a valid thread.
