Iran anniversary 'punch' will stun West: Khamenei

Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Iran is set to deliver a "punch" that will stun world powers during this week's 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

"The Iranian nation, with its unity and God's grace, will punch the arrogance (Western powers) on the 22nd of Bahman (February 11) in a way that will leave them stunned," Khamenei, who is also Iran's commander-in-chief, told a gathering of air force personnel.

I saw this stated earlier by the President of Iran but now its the Ayatollah as well.

Now much like North Korea, they love to make grand declarations that end up being little more then nothing.

Assuming its not nothing..what would "stun" the worlds powers?

I can think of 3 things...

Detonating a Nuclear Weapon.
Attacking Israel.
Announcing an Alliance with a major power--Russia or China.


Both the President and the Ayatollah have connections to a sect that believes in the return of the Mahdi...more importanyl believe their acts will herald his return.

Well if someone was a historian he would say that this kind of thing happened before. We have all our pieces on the board. Kim Jong Il the new Japanese Emperor. Ayatollah the new Hitler, and Obama the new Chamberlain. If the detonate a nuke, it will be because of Obama's complacency and because of his stupidity and pro-Islamic leanings. Thankfully the Israeli Masahd will not sit around and do nothing. If they detonate a bomb, there will be dead sheiks, scientists, and big craters in Iran.

When the leader of Iran makes these proclamations he is doing it out of his own understanding of God's will, which is the real scary part. He should be taken seriously. If he says I will wipe Israel off the map then he truly has the will to do it, but hopefully at this point does not have the means. The administration must take him more seriously than her citizens with the recent military presence in that part of the world. As the author of the book "Final Warning" we need to take him seriously.

Only thing stunning that day will be when all of Israel's military might poors over the border and wipes Iran off the map in lest than a week if they try anything.

If I were the military leaders I would have our soldiers over there on full alert no matter what the Tyrant-in-Chief wants. I would have the military poised to wipe them off the map.I would show them military might and the meaning of "overwhelming force.

I agree completely, but this Obama administration will not. IMO Obama & his libs are to fearful to do anything about it. All libs want to do is *talk*. They pretend that talking is the solution. Well, it is not a solution to defeating terrorism.

The thing is, if they pretend they are 'rising above of it' and taking the path of holding talks, they don't have to fight. That is why they want to talk. They don't have the courage to fight.
