My Problem With The Right
I am a proletariat kid. I have volunteered extensively since I was twelve-years-old. I have worked tirelessly towards education and a better life. I am an American and I identify as an objectivist. I, however, am also a proponent of the international community and I take their criticisms very seriously, as should we all.
I am not a "Prius driving faggot." I drive an 85' Ford, work long hours, and attend college every day of the week.
This being said, in some ritual affirmation of principles and values required by the GOP and "Americanism," I have always found the far Right disturbing.
Though the far Left troubles me, they have never frightened as such:
The Right is a collection of "the experienced"--steadfast constitutionalists and patriots. I've often heard that 40-year-old liberals are brainless. However, for all of their experience, I have never seen a right-minded person show any respect for their lessers. I can tell, as I am waiting on them, which of my patrons are liberals and which are conservatives. Liberals may not always know what they want, but conservatives are socially detached and hysteric, seeking instant gratification. Though I respect individuals of vision and conviction, the typical conservative who I serve is a professional consumer--unconcerned with those around him and unaware of genuine human interaction. These behaviors are psychologically unsound.
Concerning patriotism, conservatives perplex me. I am a patriot of the accurate term: I am proud of my nation of origin. I believe that America has generated ground-shaking innovations in culture, sub-culture, music, art, governance, policy, etc. But I am not a nationalist. I do not believe that my country is better than any other. I see a profound arrogance in those who create international controversy over pettiness and egotism. Nationalism fueled both World Wars and has sustained tension for epochs. I am no better than you, just as America is no better than Mexico. I may be smarter, more motivated, or better looking than you just as America may be superior to Mexico in economy and judicial practices. However, to each nation/person his own devices. Everything has meritable aspects.
In terms of the constitution, conservatives depress me. I studied the constitution extensively throughout high school and pursue it further in college. I understand the underlying pillars of the constitution: Checks and Balances, the Executive role, etc. Though conservatives claim the constitution as their document, they frequently defy its precepts to fit their needs. The Bush administration is all but a monarchy. There is no judicial or legislative oversight. Two parties unabashedly own every policy maker. The voice of the individual is superfluous to the special interests dictating political conflict and driving policy.
On a social note, conservatives are largely dysfunctional. Conservatives are trained to adhere to hypocrisy. The very politicians who are owned by Evangelists and publicly bash homosexuality have been rapping Congressional Pages since 1982. The likes of Mark Foley aren't rare amongst Republican senators. This continues today without further investigation by the GOP or Congress as a whole.
As for the Religious Right, I am stunned. People honestly believe that the world is 6,000-years-old. Wow. I would be fine with this delusion, if only they didn't assert it into politics. There is no separation of church and state in this country--this scares the hell out of me.
In general, I am living in an age of the reactionary vs. the progressive. The reactionaries are nationalistic, angry, delusional, and vastly uneducated. The progressives aren't so great themselves. I identify with them only out of hope and a belief in dynamicism.

Liberal Troll post:
Bush bad no matter what he does he's evil. No matter how valid the critism of Obama conservatives and Republicans can't use them. If you vote against Obama your a racist no matter if your black.I have a heart. I have a heart of a small boy. Its in a jar of formaldehyde on my desk. - Mark Twain

Not whatsoever.
Bush isn't evil, he's unfit...and, frankly, a bit retarded.
Obama deserves criticism and analysis, just like every other politician. Though, most Republican criticism are unmerited fallacies.
Whether or not you vote for Obama has nothing to do with race.
Glad I could clean that up for you,

I'll tell you what you have a problem with, kid... Generalizing, making assumptions, waggling your finger at people and saying "you should ___", and using an extensive vocabulary in a meager attempt to impress us and show us that you're a stand-up guy, when the truth is you're just another stinkin' liberal with nothing better to do that troll a conservative board and complain how screwed up we all are.
My FIRST post here and you insulted me. You, sir, are a bastard. Nothing more.
Oh, and as for us "right wing loonies"? I strongly suggest you visit your local Home Depot, buy some lumber, build a bridge, and get over it... because we're here to stay, whether you like it or not.

I'm not a troll, I am a concerned citizen. And honestly, I should be reading a text for school right now.
Yes, I am a bastard. As a great many of my class are.
I don't aim to impress you. I aim to have discourse with you. This is how I commonly think, write, and speak.
I am not telling you "loonies" to leave. I am asking you to hear reason.

I'm having difficulty wrapping my brain around that. You basically just said "I'm a self centered idiot, and I'm TRYING to piss everyone off here."
And you're an absolute fool if you really think you're going to make so much as a dent in our beliefs, especially with the way you treat people. You're condescending, rude, and insulting.
Please do us all a favor and swallow a box of razor blades.
