Should the GOP oppose gay adoption?
James Richardson tosses out the gauntlet at his new blog, The Skepticians, in discussing a recent ruling in Florida that overturned a ban on gay couples adopting children. Richardson worked at the RNC this past year, and believes that the gay-rights issue will eventually marginalize the Republican Party. He sharply criticizes the proponents of the ban in Florida:

I say, yes, the GOP should oppose gay adoption. It should oppose gay marriage as well. The umbrella getting too big and taking in all sorts of values waters down the base. Too many liberals, moderates and RINOs have become prominent in the party.
It was bad enough to have pro-abortion Republicans speak at conventions, although they didn't address abortion. It still sends a message the party tolerates and accepts social liberalism of party members. Colin Powell wanted to address abortion rights when he spoke at the 96 convention, but didn't, and we see how we were repaid.
Even though I don't like RINOs to be in the spolight, especially at our conventions, I understand not everyone will agree on everything and there needs to be individualism. Therefore, I can accept a moderate speaking at a convention, but the party needs to remain solidified by a conservative base. The party as a whole, overall, needs to have a conservative platform and take a stand.
We should not endorse the views of liberals, or endorse liberalism, no matter what party they are in, especially our own.
The G.O.P. needs to get back to cutting taxes, national defense, support for the military, support for clandestine operations, pro-family, pro-life, and the support of marriage consisting of being between one man and one woman and focus on support and tax incentives for in tact families.

I do not believe anyone of good conscience wouldn't oppose queers adopting children to indoctrinate/use of pedophilia or/ pretend that homosexuality is an acceptable alternative lifestyle on a par with normal .
republicans have been borrowing from the liberal democrat ideology of anything goes , all is fine , nothing is unacceptable
this is why they lost the white house and a large portion of their seats in congress.

I have seen a most disturbing trend, on so called conservative radio shows. The so called "fiscal conservative", still dosent get it. People like myself who are un-unrolled, will never vote for a morally bankrupt person, no matter how "fiscally conservative" they are. Those jackass RINO's are nothing more than Libertarians, and they get pissed when I point that out. Too many people in the middle of the road today, shows the state America is in. Spineless bunch......the lot of them.

In some cases, I would say that doesn't apply. As I began my shift from considering myself a Liberal, I moved a period of being outright moderate on multiple political compass like tests. I fell into the exact center of the Libertarian quare graph. This was not because I wouldn't take a definite position on issues. It was because that average of my positions fell into that moderate spot. However, I am now much more Conservative. As one trsnsitions from Liberalism to Conservatism, they can be moderate without being wishy washy. However, even that state didn't last very long for me.
It takes a FAMILY to raise a child--Not Hitlery Klinton's Socialist, Anti-Family, Nanny-State...I mean, "Village".
