'What Else Should a Reporter BE' But a Liberal?

According to Helen Thomas, a reporter SHOULD be biased.

So what do you get when you mix a Canadian TV hostess with the venerable Helen Thomas?

An admission of bias so strong that it could ward off a vampire. Just why the image of the undead first came to my mind is anybody's guess, but there you have it.

And all this time I thought reporters were supposed to be..................objective ????

Where ever did I get that idea.

Helen Thomas was the one who asked Donald Rumsfeld "Well, who should we believe? You or them?" referring to Al Jazeera.

What ever happened to the rules of journalism that I heard years ago about giving just the facts and not making them show your bias?

Thank you, Walter Cronkite. He was the leader of reporters changing from simply reporting the news, to editorializing, and calling it reporting.

Anyone remember when Nixon made the announcement that he was going to China? He took 90 seconds to make the announcement; it was followed by almost half an hour of John Chancellor saying how shocked he was.

And reporters wonder why their job is now on the irony level of politicians...

No they're not. They deny that they're lying and guilty of hypocrisy and accuse their opponents of it instead.

No I do not remember that but you remined me of why I stopped listening to presidential speeches because I sat and listened to one and after I heard some commentator talk about what he said and it was so different from what I had heard.
