I have a few gay friends and even they agree with this (that it should be a states issue). I don't see where the opposition is.

Fun Fact: According to WSJ 27% of gay voters went McCain this election, giving him about 1.4-1.6 million of his votes.

This is such a non-news story. The only reason that the MSM carried it was because Meghan agreed with them on this issue. She's hardly an expert on anything, but because she's a GOP senator's daughter, her views are important to the liberal media...on this issue alone.

I don't recall the MSM asking her opinion of candidates or policy or anything else during the election. Just another shameful example of how biased the liberal media has become.

Bush won like 35% of the gay vote in 04.

It was closer to 24%... I don't know if I agree with Meghan, a GOP that supports gay marriage would lose a lot more than 24% of the STRAIGHT vote which is a MUCH larger number than the gay vote. A candidate that wasn't outright against gay marriage might be a step in the right direction though-- getting those 76% more homosexuals could help us out a lot
They are like a corrosive Fifth Column on this Forum. Presumably, Nut Job is the putative leader of this Liberal column, and I guess Reagan Girl is the mother superior of the bunch.

I'm indifferent to the plight of the gays. Can't find myself for it can't find myself against it so I stay away from it, really. It's entirely uninteresting.

And that outlook would get more votes than Bush's "I support a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage". I mean, the guy still won (twice), but we're up against a HELL of a lot more liberals than we ever were before.

I don't believe so. We could have won the Presidency last year but JMac was a bad campaigner. Obama was being buried from the Convention until McCain supported the bailout. That, imo, is what killed his campaign. If we kept that momentum going we could've squeezed a victory out.

I think Palin is what killed his campaign -- well, more the media's portrayal of her.

I'd agree. That was the campaign's fault as well. They handcuffed her. I think she's much stronger than she came off in a Katie Couric interview.
