A Liberal Moral Creed
From True Blue Liberal
By Rodger Raino
* I believe people are more important than things
* I believe all of our children should have access to a high quality education
* I believe we should respect those who are different than ourselves and treat them with dignity
* I believe everyone should be treated equally under the law
* I believe the most vulnerable among us should be protected
* I believe that while war may regrettably be necessary it should only be undertaken after all other solutions have been exhausted
* I believe encouraging diverse viewpoints makes us stronger
* I believe society should be responsible for endeavors, that support the common good and are beyond the scope of individuals
* I believe it is my duty to pay for the costs of services government provides
* I believe it is wrong to dictate the beliefs of others
* I believe that none of us should be forced to live in poverty
* I believe everyone should have enough to eat
* I believe everyone should have a place to live
* I believe everyone should have access to quality healthcare
* I believe all religious traditions deserve respect
* I believe that those who claim to speak for God have not been listening carefully to the words of God
* I believe that moral positions which promote hate are actually immoral
* I believe I am responsible for my own behavior and the consequences of that behavior
* I believe t hat policy decisions should be based on facts and science
* I believe we should try to eradicate the root causes of crime
* I believe criminal justice should never be cruel
* I believe it is wrong to take advantage of others
* I believe we must resist the temptation of majorities to tyrannize minorities

That first one, at the very least, is untrue. They put plants and animals above human beings. I'll not bother to analyze them all for their hypocrisy.
From True Blue Liberal
By Rodger Raino
* I believe people are more important than things
(except of course the unborn even with a pre-natal age of 8½ months, the mother might possibly wish an abortion so she can use the money that would be spent raising her baby for a shiny new automobile ~a thing~ its a woman right to kill her baby in order to aquire a thing you know)
* I believe all of our children should have access to a high quality education
('Course we rich liberals have the right to put our children in the very best private schools that money can buy and we do that almost always. PS Soon through imposing very high taxation we are claiming that even the poor and downtrodden can do that too.)
* I believe we should respect those who are different than ourselves and treat them with dignity
(except of course the Christians and the strong Conservatives)
* I believe everyone should be treated equally under the law
(And I don't want to hear even one word about OJ's Dream Team either.)
* I believe the most vulnerable among us should be protected
(Again, except for the helpless unborn, a woman's right to kill her baby. The baby should NOT be protected even though quite vulnerable.)
* I believe that while war may regrettably be necessary it should only be undertaken after all other solutions have been exhausted
(Pssst, that really means we'll bow and scrape and appease and cow down and do anything we have to do in order to avoid a fight. Neville Chamberlain was a great man.)
* I believe encouraging diverse viewpoints makes us stronger
(Again, except for the Christian viewpoint and the strong Conservative viewpoint)
* I believe society should be responsible for endeavors, that support the common good and are beyond the scope of individuals
(Hey, don't tell anybody, but we really mean here with this one, that we love and trust the United Nations and the International Community more than we do America's elected representatives especially if they're Conservatives.)
* I believe it is my duty to pay for the costs of services government provides
(No matter how high your taxes go, and btw we liberals get to decide what services ya'll need AND how much taxes you need to pay to get them.)
* I believe it is wrong to dictate the beliefs of others
(Again, except to Christians and strong Conservatives, then its right to do that)
* I believe that none of us should be forced to live in poverty
(And that government run Socialism is the solution here.)
* I believe everyone should have enough to eat
(Even if they refuse to work, it was their parent's fault anyway, their circumstances during their up-bringing made them lazy, and taxation should should supply the funds to feed them and high on the hog too, they should eat just as well, no !, better, than people who work for a living.)
* I believe everyone should have a place to live
(Same thing, see above.)
* I believe everyone should have access to quality healthcare
(Same thing, see above)
* I believe all religious traditions deserve respect
(As long as they agree with our liberal/socialist/humanistic agenda that is, and of course again, that excludes Christianity. PS Its true that Islam does not exactly agree with our agenda, but they are enemies of our enemy, that is, Christianity, so we give them a pass, and we hope they do not behead us, maybe they won't as they come to love our French Fries, hamburgers, Coke, designer jeans, strip shows, Los Vegas, etc. Anyway we're praying to our god Mankind that they will not cut out heads off.)
* I believe that those who claim to speak for God have not been listening carefully to the words of God
(Except when we tell you what our god Mankind has whispered in our ears, thats different. We can speak for him and we do listen to his words carefully. He says to tell you its morally the right thing to do to vote Dem in 2010 and 2012, do the morally right thing and do that.)
* I believe that moral positions which promote hate are actually immoral
(Hate as defined by we liberals that is, and when you disagree with our social justice opinions and positions you're getting very close to hate views. Its actually immoral to disagree with our views on social justice.)
* I believe I am responsible for my own behavior and the consequences of that behavior
(But victim groups are not, neither the downtrodden, neither the disenfranchised. PS We liberals will tell you who these groups are. We decide that, not you.)
* I believe t hat policy decisions should be based on facts and science
(Of course, science and facts as determined by us, we get to tell you what is true science and what is not. Same with the facts too. Facts are facts when we say they are facts and not until we say so.)
* I believe we should try to eradicate the root causes of crime
(Thats poverty btw. Think high taxation and goverment regulation. These are the cure for poverty.)
* I believe criminal justice should never be cruel
(We liberals define "cruel", capital punishment is cruel. We say it is, we are wiser than others who disagree with us.)
* I believe it is wrong to take advantage of others
(Unless they believe they have a right to express their Christian views in the public square, them its okay to take advantage of them and shut them up.)
* I believe we must resist the temptation of majorities to tyrannize minorities. (Except if we liberals and socialists ever get a huge controlling majority, if we ever do get that we'll dominate you Conservatives with an iron fist and label it righteousness.
Very well done, Jack! I had something like that in mind, but was too lazy to follow through.

In 2004–2005 (the most recent school year for which data are available), an average of $9,266 was spent per pupil in American public schools.[6] This means that a student entering first grade in 2004 could expect approximately $111,000 to be spent on his or her elementary and secondary education if the student com*pletes high school.[7]* I believe all of our children should have access to a high quality education
The Supreme Court ruled Monday that white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge.* I believe everyone should be treated equally under the law

The doctrine required broadcasters who aired material on controversial issues to provide "equal time" for the expression of opposing views. The net result was censorship, since broadcasters simply refrained from airing public affairs programing.

DDT Banning: After reversing the EPA hearing examiner's decision, Ruckelshaus refused to release materials upon which his ban was based. Ruckelshaus rebuffed USDA efforts to obtain those materials through the Freedom of Information Act, claiming that they were just "internal memos." I'll give my own rebuttal later, but it looks like Jack probably took my thunder from me.
