Seeing the weeping throngs and the crowd that filled the Staples Center, and all his family and close friends crying and carrying on.................couldn't at least 1 of them walk up to the man and tell him he was killing himself with those drugs????

That really was SOME fire and it appears he did not realize he was burning for a bit of time. Says he suffered second and third degree burns and i'll bet he did and that accounts for the scars that were reported on his face. That was quite horrific.

That's a great question WarPig, but you know what...they did.
One of the main reasons why MJ had such "tension" with his family is because they would tell him to stop doing certain things...and he didn't like it.
He would simply alienate them, which he did, whenever he started getting to many messages he didn't wanna hear.
I'm sure you know someone in your life like this right now, I know I do.
This is also a large reason why Jackson had a constant revolving door of friends, the ones that got close enough to have the balls to say "Mike, I don't think you should..." by the time they got to "should" they found themselves behind a slammed door and out of Michael's life.
Now this is not to demonize MJ, because this is typical behaviour for any big celeb in similar situations. It just manifested "worse" in MJ because he was, in fact, THE biggest celeb the world has seen to date.
Its really a sad, sad story.
As much of a genius he was...he was a very lonely and sad man.

Honestly my only thought on MJ is a can't wait until I don't have to hear anything about him. The media goes nuts sometimes.
