That doesn't make it any less overhyped.

When I was just a little kid my mom, who is now 73 was raving to me about MJ singing Ben. You might hate the guy, you might look down on him with self righteous disgust but you can't take away from him his incredible talent and ability to touch people of all ages, races, religions etc because of the music and the dancing.
|
Puh-leaze, anyone can have an affect on a majority of people with the right connections.

Marvin Gaye, lol give me a break.
No as for the only black entertainers to make it being commercial, rap etc. brings up the interesting phenomenon. While MJ, was nominally black (looked white sometimes, lol) the best rapper ever is eminem, and he is white.
|
Eminem is horrible just like every other common "rapper" today. You don't know rap until you've listened to Coolio, Vanilla, DMX, MC Hammer...

I presume by technicality you mean reasonable doubt.. Not everyone makes a judgement before the evidence it presented.
|
No, that isn't a technicality. In both cases were hints of corruption within the prosecution, and the jury was especially corrupted.

I never said he was not talented, or could not dance...but his wierdness and bizarreness overshadowed his talent. Sorry I am just not an enabling sort of person. Scewed up is screwed up, an ax murdrerer does not get a pass just because he is talented.
He was absolutely doing eveything ad anything to not be himself. Sorry genuine counts...look at a picture ofhim as a child and then a picture of the freak that money, lunacy, narcissism and nihilism and cadre of enablers created.
Sorry over the span of time BB King is far Superior in talent, along with several others...Paul Simon...the list could go on. Thriller was marketing genius...but the rest of his stuff...mediocre.

Algol when I as young my folks moved to Cleveland, (from DC) and I dated this one guy and we frequently went to this cool little club that was in the basement of a Hotel in Cleveland.
Gary Puckett and the Union Gap were not quite yet famous and they had been playing there for about three weeks or maybe a month. Jimmy Hendrix was scheduled to give a concert and we had tickets to go....
He showed up the night before and sat in with them for a couple of sets...It was absoutely far out...as we used to say. What a memory...needless to say we did not go to the concert the next day...my beau at he time sold those tickets to one of his buddies.

Nice.
My dad was a huge Jimi Hendrix fan, and he was at Jimi Hendrix's very last concert the night before he died. My dad would always tell me about how Jimi Hendrix flew in from a helicopter (I remember my dad telling me it was a Cobra or something), and had an orange bandanna, the whole concert was just legendary. It may have been a Woodstock concert too.

Totally!
Most definitely one of the best comics about MJ's death. (I'd say the best is Ahmadenejad being ignored due to MJ being dead.)
