Pelousy says town hall protests "un-American"

Here's my take on the whole town hall issue. Democrats use them to basically have a pulpit from which to spew their garbage. We're at a point in this debate, and more broadly as a country, where politicians will not answer questions honestly. They spin things so far and so dishonestly that they deserve neither the respect nor the "obedience" they want.

When a politician of Nancy Pelousy's leaning can go to a town hall meeting, be open and honest about the legislation and the true goals and provisions of the legislation, and actually address questions asked, then and only then would I look down upon these disruptions.

Politicians have so poisoned the debate in America with lies that it's not possible for a town hall to be of any benefit, except to protest.

I cant believe we are witnessing what we are with the town hall mess.
I just pray that things remain non-violent. If something violent happens the statists will use it as an excuse to STOP debate through force. That force could mean anything from sanctions to shutting down sites like this one in the name of 'safety'.
I am however, prepared to be blasted with a firehose if that is what it takes.

I think (and hope) that even the left in the media are starting to realize what is happening to the debate - that nobody knows the true state of things because no fact, figure, or piece of legislation is left unmolested before it's reported on or spoken about. The American people are not getting the whole story, they're not getting the truth, and the town hall meetings are a sign that Americans are fed up with the lies.

I have to be honest. She is completely right. I never thought I'd be saying it, but she's completely right.


Now the socialists in this country need to take her advice. The only people trying to squelch free political speech on this issue are on the left.

Her statement, while correct, is made to say that shouting down leftists at a town hall meeting is what is un-American. I believe that to be disingenious. (SP?)

The right to protest your government or any private institution has been a part of being an American for some time. To say otherwise would be a slap in the face to history.

While I completely agree these townhalls shouldn't be a PR campaign by the Democrats to push this bill on us, we need to be civil. We don't need to shout down opposition otherwise that is just falling into their trap.

HWB - I agree to a certain extent, except that when you appear civil to these clowns, and wait your turn for a mic, and speak kindly and respectfully, all you get are lies and verbal dancing.

It's a no win situation for the citizens. You either stand there and act "civil" while they lie and spin to your face, or you can act up and be labeled "un-American". Lose-lose.
