I don't get why this is an issue. We know the world is warming up; we know that pollution harms the environment. Why does it matter to politics if we cause it or not? Both Democrats and Republicans have supported measures to reduce pollution and to make things "green". I mean, really, why even waste our time arguing?

Good point, but I still find it pointless. Especially since the facts are so radically different depending on who you ask, it makes it impossible to come to an informed conclusion. What is the title of this thread?

No, facts are never different, only the interpretation of them. We’re all in favor of limiting pollution, but the AWG cult keeps trying to make the case that CO2 is a pollutant and in so doing they take money and effort away from dealing with REAL pollutants like sewer and fertilizer run off, heavy metals in the air, and dozens of items affecting real people today.
The arrogance of the AWG cult ignores that climate changes and rather than allowing society to prepare for climate change thinks they can stop it and not have to prepare for it.

Global Warming is just another religion. It is like the Middle Ages. They needed something blame for their problems. In the Middle Ages, when crops went bad and other bad things happened, they blamed it on evil spirits. Replace that with Global Warming. Al Gore is like the "pope" of the Global Warming. No offense to Catholics. Also, carbon offsets are like Indulgences offered by the Roman Catholic Church. Same thing.
Climate change does happen inevitably for various reasons because of ocean currents, solar behavior, and continental shifts. If we were to live in Pangaea, the climate would be very different from today. It would be a lot warmer and we could see more hypercanes.Ptarmigan=Cute and Cuddly

I think the Ptarmigan flew to close to Fred Phelps – they aren’t birds readily adaptable to Topeka Kansas. I miss the old bird avatar of years ago.
Careful – many drops of water have been converted to other compounds and a few of those hydrogen atoms have been converted to energy during nuclear explosions.

Maybe you are similar to Bjorn Lomborg?
Who believes that GW is real. But the effects of it are not that significant. He wants the money spent on the needy people and infrastructure.Than to spend it "mitigating" CO2 emissions.
He is part of the "Copenhagen Consensus" where they believe that there are many environmental and social things to do that more important than reducing CO2 emissions.
Such as potable water, medical care, feed the poor and so on.Where money spent will produce tangible results.
