This past summer was very mild, for sure.

I live at the base of Queen Anne hill and have been here more than 20 years. It's unusual to get snow here at all. Maybe a dusting once a year and it doesn't last long. It's usually gone by the next day. We've had a fair amount on the ground since Thursday. This is VERY unusual.

To top it off, the City of Seattle won't clear the streets. Apparently, they don't want salt to run off into Puget Sound (it's seawater!).

I'm in Snohomish County and we had the roof of a huge warehouse collapse yesterday along with the roof on a horse barn. We have close to a foot of snow in our back yard which I've never seen since moving here almost 20 years ago.

When we went to the store yesterday, it's amazing how bare the shelves were of essentials. My hubby took the in-laws shopping today and said the shelves were even barer. Scary.
