Actually a little of that is going on now...dna taken from infants at birth and stored in a data base. Why?

My question is; how exactly was young Brooke conceived? This could be one of God's wonders and then again it could one of Mankind's stupidities.

    Just something to think about.
We don't have that kind of ability yet, or at least, we're not aware of it.

I'm sure if she was a test tube baby they would have mentioned it. But if she was, it's unlikely it had much (read: anything) to do with her condition. Most "test tube" pregnancies are simply artificial insemination - The egg is taken out of the woman, fertilized, and then put back in (or put into a fertile surrogate mother). The genetic experimentation you're talking about would involve actually altering the genes. Unless there were chemicals involved - which I doubt there would be, those places are usually kept totally sterile - I can't see how the process would affect her. And they also probably would mention it, because the clinics usually fertilize several eggs in hope of getting one to take; so there's a high risk of having multiples, which would be of interest in a case like Brooke's.

I think the fact that she's having so many problems is indicative of her case being less than miraculous. Unfortunately, I predict a curtailed and troubled life for the poor girl.

I suspect that she's just (literally) retarded, both mentally & physically.

At least she'll never really know what's going on.

In some of those pictures it strikes me if she is in some way aware that her baby sisters have grown bigger and perhaps she is finding it puzzling...Perhaps unfair would be too hard a concept, but at least some sense of inequity.

As FC said, it's no miracle for the person, the soul. For the fountain of youth is useless if we can't experience life with it. I feel sorry for the girl, I'd rather die than live like that.

No, Merlin traveled back in time in the same way we travel forward. My dad, having been a warlock a long time ago (male witch for those who don't know), believed that had Merlin existed, his time of birth was centuries in the future.

Eh, there are lots of cool (and often conflicting) stories about Merlin. I've heard both.
