You guys are worried the Chinese will outpace us. I actually welcome the competition. We haven't done anything in a while BECAUSE there's no competition. Remember, we started the Gemini and Mercury projects in RESPONSE to Sputnik and Gagheran (or however you spell his name) and in no time at all outpaced them, out thought them, outdid them. If China were to send an expedition to the moon, NASA would be given such a jumpstart that we'd be on Mars 10 years later. Relax everyone. Besides, true exploration of space will not come by the hands of government agencies and philanthropist but by the gritty competition of private companies competing for the resources, tourists, and scientific expeditions of the galaxy. Virgin Space will outdo us all.
If you're a liberal, anything you say is protected. If you're a conservative, anything you say is hateful.”- Laura Schlessinger

Liberalism is totalitarianism with a human face”- Thomas Sowell

"Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle."

Not if the Unions stubbornly continue to price American labor out of the market. And they will, as long as they can.

Perhaps, if your looking at it from a, "We've already done it", angle. But from a scientific point of view, there is a lot to do on the moon. It certainly would accomplish more than circling the Earth in a Station.

I honestly think that the space program has accomplished much there is waste but to abandon it would be unwise.
