Ignore button..?..

I'm not familiar with vBulletin, but is there a way to add an ignore button so that you can choose to ignore someone and have all of their posts become invisible? I understand this is a public forum and people are entitled to post their opinion but I would rather not have to read certain peoples posts as they never contribute anything worthwhile.

Click on their name, click view public profile and then click 'add to ignore list.'

There is an ignore function I had that one moronic kid (the one that had the random thought thread) on ignore about 3 days after he arrived here. He could not come up with a coherent sentence to save his life.

Awesome, thanx for the replies. On another forum ther is an ignore button right next to peoples names. I guess I should've looked a little harder.

I've only ever put one person on ignore on this site, and he was banned after not many posts - and all his posts deleted, because they were so inflamatory. I've come close to putting some on ignore - including the one you guys are probably talking about - but a lot of them just shoot off their mouths for a while and then either go their way or are banned.

You all aren't talking about me are you? If you are I'm hurt. This site would be a lot more boring without people like me.

It would be a lot more like this

*First Post*

It would just be an agreement-fest which is uninteresting. That is why I post here and have never posted on DU or any kind of liberal leaning forums.

Oh, you are so wrong! There have been long periods of time when you haven't been around that we've had some very animated discussions, and not everyone agreeing with everyone else. Don't you ever read any of those?

I've read them but they are pretty much the exception rather than the rule.

Why is it that the Democrats always think that the Republicans are in lockstep, when if you go to, say, Democratic Underground, if you say one word out of lockstep, it's immediate banning?

Why is it that the Democrats accuse the Republicans of "silencing" them, when Obama tries to silence his critics, while accepting his supporters as doing the only right thing.

You can't tell me, either, that most threads are the lockstep variety that you implied. Well, you can tell me, but it's not true. You can even have animated discussions without disagreeing; and besides, most of us belong to this site because we have similar views. So why should we welcome stridently diverse views?

Don't get me wrong I'm grateful I haven't been banned. And you're right, other websites should be more tolerant of different views and those expressing them. And you are all certainly more in lockstep with each other than you are with me.

Great, we're in lockstep that you're an irritant. This is news?

If enough people put him on ignore, he won't even make a ripple.

Yeah then this site could be guilty of the same intolerance of which you accuse DU.

Everybody putting you on ignore doesn't equate with banning. It's just us giving our opinion of you (not necessarily of your opinions, because some people who agree with us can be extremely irritating at times). If we don't want to read your drivel, it's because we're tired of putting up with your childishness. You can talk all you want, we just won't listen. So far, however, you haven't been enough of an irritant for me to put you on ignore. We do have one conservative on this site whom FC has on ignore. I don't have him on ignore myself, but I pretty much ignore him anyway. I do the same with you on occasion, particularly when I get tired of repeating myself.

If we were like DU, you would be banned just for your screen name.
