Windows Vista
This section I see does not get posted in to often, but that's ok.
I wanted to give a review of Windows Vista to everyone that might have seen/read etc the "nasty" things about how bad it is.
Well in truth 95% of what is said about Vista is just not true. In fact I use it all the time as my daily computer and I could not be any happier!
I use the Vista Ultimate 64 bit on a new laptop and it is hands down better than XP ever was.
I just want to let everyone know that they should not be scared to use Vista because of it's many problems because it does not have many at all. (No OS is perfect)
If you like how XP works you will love Vista for these reasons:- New user interface is great
- Now have a quick search feature in the start that you can find anything instantly
- Almost never locks up and the blue screen of death is a thing of the past
- The response you receive overall is just quicker in Vista than in XP
- Yes most printers, scanners etc WILL WORK in Vista just as long as they are not 20 years old.
I would recommend that if you have a computer less than 2 years old loading up Vista will be a great choice and you will not be disappointed at all. (2gigs of ram is recommend)
It seems the only people who have "problems" with Vista are the ones who never used it and just believe what they see and read.
That's right those Mac Vs. PC ad's from Apple are not true AT ALL.

I have it on my home computer, and it works just fine. It was very slow at first, but once I stripped off all the nonsense that came preloaded to the start menu, it works great.

If you know what you're doing, getting rid of User Access Control helps immensely. Yes, it makes the system less secure, but UAC only helps if you've been doing something stupid.

Windows Vista has gotten better...so I've heard.
If I hadn't recently read an article on how much better it had gotten then I wouldn't agree, because of what I've heard about it, but I think Microsoft has been trying to work the bugs out it. I know I read that businesses wouldn't use it because they were afraid it would crash, and they would lose information so they stuck with Windows XP, but that may be a thing of the past."A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." -John C. The reason I like XP on my computer is the very reason that I not only would not love Vista, but actually loathe it, is that I don't have to learn any freakin' thing new to use it. I'm leaving well enough alone, and whenever I'm in the market for a new computer, I'll get XP again if I can.
Frankly, Adamd, you sound like a Microsoft spammer, and since you only have thirteen posts to your credit, I'm not sure you're not.Last edited by Fantasy Chaser; 10-25-2008 at 09:30 AM.

Speaking as somebody who was in the Vista beta, I will stick with XP.

The thing with Micro-crap is they seem to have a 'release today, fix later' policy when it comes to putting software on the shelves.
The entire programming team wanted to strip Windows ME and re-program it from the core, but the upper execs wanted to go ahead and release it anyway, as they already had a lot invested
And we saw what happened.

Yeah, I think I remember reading something like that in NewsWeek.
It said the program wasn't quite ready but they wanted to release it regardless.
Well, I won't be getting Vista if I get a new computer as far as I'm concerned. I think my laptop now is Vista capable, but I will not be putting it on there. I'll stick with XP. Eventually I would like to get a Mac. I haven't really read up on their problems though. So I don't know."A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." -John C. Maxwell
