OK. This is a little disturbing. I thought for sure that I would be more Yankee than Southerner, although when I've been in South Carolina, Nashville & Texas for work, I do pick up the slang if'n I'm there for more than a few day's.
52% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

Islam is a religion of murder and violence as practiced by Islamofascists. The rest of the Muslims are just too afraid of the Islamofascists to say much about it. The MSM ignores the ones that do.

I need to keep remembering to say "y'all" instead of "youse guys" when speaking to my neighbors.

Y'all is just short for 'you all' and is actually more grammatically correct.

As long as you are speaking to more than one person!

Does that mean you're addressing twice as many people?

51% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category. Makes since, my parents moved from Germany to S. Carolina. So I was born there and lived there for 5 years before PA.

California, Florida, Tennessee, Indiana, Texas, New Mexico, Ohio, New York, Kentucky, and Georgia have been called 'home' at one time or another.
I guess, I'm just a reg-lar 'merican!

I posted earlier and said I was 100% Dixie. I hate to admit it but I wasn't paying too much attention when I posted, I didn't think there was a test. So I thought everyone was answering on the basis of where they grew (or are growing) up and where their family came from. I went back and took the test and came out 68% Dixie. I also had my family take it and they came out 80% Dixie, 75% Dixie, 72% Dixie, and 54% Dixie.

I've taken such tests (don't know whether I took this one or not), but they are very simplistic. There could be some questions that you could give more than one answer to, and none of them are necessarily reliable. For instance - I've used all three terms - "sack," "bag," and "poke," but I've only lived in PA, OH, & IL. Never lived in any Southern state, and I grew up in the sticks in W. PA, and almost everyone I knew then frequently used the word "poke." I believe that is supposed to be a strictly "Dixie" word, isn't it?
