America's great healthcare-my personal experience

#1

As I am writing this, it has been 8 hours since I accidently dropped a 45 pound barbell weight on my big toes. One is broken. I can’t sleep because of the pain, but the medicine helps.

I have been home for an hour. The rest of the night was spent in the ER. About 6 hours.

I did not receive attention for more than 15-20 minutes in total, but it took 6 hours with all of the waiting. 5 hours before I got the most important thing: pain relief.

Between x-rays, toe cleaning, advice, and some crutches and a boot, I also had to fork over 400 bucks.

They should have paid me for weighting so long. The thing is, they were not that busy. I think they only had one doctor.

An emergency room is not an emergency room at all.

I feel bad to the guy who was next to me, he had to wait the same amount as me(actually longer, his boss had to come so he could get a drug test before they did anything to him, he could still be there for all I know), and he had his finger crushed by a forklift fork that he dropped on himself.

Any similar experiences?
