I don’t imagine this is something you’ll find in the news, it might be a detail that’s too small to be newsworthy but still a significant detail.
My wife works for a medical insurance billing company, i.e. what her company does is handles getting payment from insurance companies for the doctor offices that are clients of the company. Usually the doctor offices bill insurance, but so frequently the billing needs to be resubmitted or corrected that a billing business such as the one where my wife works is needed (especially with Medicare claims).
Recently a trend is emerging, the company is losing clients because the doctor’s offices are joining hospital systems because of Obamacare.
It’s not hard to see where this trend could lead. Consolidation over independent doctor offices, which consolidates power (and political donations)… And makes the system easier to integrate into a nationalized healthcare system.
