‘Something unexpected’ is happening on the Sun, Nasa has warned.

This year was supposed to be the year of ‘solar maximum,’ the peak of the 11-year sunspot cycle.

But as this image reveals, solar activity is relatively low.

Huh?! Has anyone notified AlGore that the Solar System is again about to complicate his nice, tidy, shiny, Anthropogenic Global Warming theory? Humans have a curious reluctance to acknowledge there are significant things about which we are ignorant, especially when those areas of ignorance touch our views of reality.

This is old news. The Sun’s minimums have been unusually small since like 10 or so years ago. It occasionally does this, the most famous being the Little Ice Age in Europe.

Oh gosh…look out…THE SUN IS FALLING, THE SUN IS FALLING! Where’s algore when you need him?
