Domino's Pizza Owner wins against Obama

The founder of Domino’s Pizza sued the federal government over the Obamacare HHS mandate in December. Tom Monaghan, a devout Roman Catholic, currently offers health insurance to employees that excludes contraception and abortion. The Obama Administration and Democrats believe Monaghan should have to pay for these services despite his religious beliefs.
A federal judge this week blocked a the Obama Administration from requiring Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan to provide mandatory contraception coverage to his employees.
It infringed upon his Constitutional rights.

The fight is still going strong against the unconstitutional acts of Obama who thinks he can bypass all checks and balances and ignore the constitution he hates.

This nation is going full tilt towards a nation that will not longer be a republic but just another communist regime with the top few dictating what the citizens can and can not do.

The tools are being put in place by the government to be able to poke into citizens every aspect of life with the government knowing all and controlling as it sees fit.

A slight correction, Monaghan hasn’t been owner of Domino’s Pizza since 1998 (bought then by Bain Capital, who took it public in 2004). This decision applied to an investment firm Monaghan does own. From the article (quoting from a CBS Local article), emphasis added:

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Lawrence Zatkoff granted a preliminary injunction against enforcement of the law against Monaghan and Domino’s Farms.

I’m going to edit the title of this thread to add the word, “Owner”. It’s still not totally correct, but it at least identifies the winner of this case as Monaghan rather than Domino’s Pizza (and it’s Jim Hoft’s blog post title).

True, but Monaghan still sits on the Board of Directors and has influence on how the company is run. He sold Domino’s for $1.4 billion dollars—which he then spent on his Ave Maria University and St. Thomas More Law School (and a private, Catholic, elementary school in the same area) in what is now called, “Ave Maria, Florida”. This area is in close proximity to Naples, Florida. He moved there when the City of Ann Arbor refused to allow him to expand his schools there. (It was because they claimed that the land he owned was zoned in such a way as to not allow any kind of “commercial” enterprises. Don’t know if that is correct, but I know he then looked into moving his enterprises to another state.) There is a lot of anti-Monaghan sentiment amongst Ann Arborites…not sure why.

Maybe envy, maybe resentment that the “wrong sort of person” succeeded. And as Jesus said, quoting a then popular proverb, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country.”
