Favorite war movie!

The days seem dark and dreary , which made me think: WAR MOVIE! What are your favorites?

To kick the ball off, my favorite is Apocalypse Now, followed by Sands of Iwo Jima.

What say you?:firing:

Apocalypse Now is not a “war movie.” It’s an ANTI-war movie and reflects NOTHING of what was going on in Vietnam.

I like Tora! Tora! Tora! I recall that I liked Midway, but it’s been decades since I’ve seen it.

We Were Soldiers and Black Hawk Down.

I like the good old vintage WWII movies, and Vietnam war movies.

“We Were Soldiers” and “Band of Brothers.”

Some fun facts about the movie: 12 Intense Facts About

The Cockpit.

The Pentagon Wars.

MacArthur. (My dad was briefly in it)

I love all of the older war movies. Full Metal Jacket is the most accurate depiction of USMC boot camp, and is probably my favorite until they hit Vietnam.
I pretty much turn it off at that point.

All of the classics I love. Bridge over the river Kwai, Force 10 from Navaronne, all of the Clint Eastwood movies. Midway, Tora Tora Tora (as FC mentioned.) The Sands of Iwo Jima.

I do not like the more recent war movies, newer than FMJ.
Jarhead is a pile of manure. Platoon makes me near postal.

Oh I forgot Three Kings.
