Fox News Megyn Kelly interview with Charlie Woods, father of Tyrone Navy SEAL

#1

I just watched it, GUT WRENCHING, brought me to tears, Megyn was visibility upset. Tyrone’s body was found slumped over his machine, after making 3 calls BEGGING for support.
Dad, is a lawyer and feels they watched his son being murdered.

Hillary/Obama, need to be charged with murder, nothing else is acceptable…

Its on TV now
Romney should be taking this to Obama, we can IMPEACH this bastard

#2

The look on General McIllnery Face screams anger over this, he is bing interviewed by Megyn Kelly as I type.

#3

Truly a heart-rending interview of a father whose heroic son died needlessly. This drip-by-drip exposure of incompetence and malfeasance in the White House reminds me of Watergate, where nobody died yet a despicable President was driven from office. This Benghazi scandal is so much worse. If those four tragic deaths have the effect of denying a second term to the worst President in history, they will not have died in vain.

There is usually a reason a unit is told to stay put. I can’t speak to the tactical situation, because neither I, nor this man know what was happening. But the fact that he was killed after disregarding orders, while others in his unit were not, indicates his orders were probably in the best interest of he and his entire unit.

Four Americans were killed in total. Had they charged in, guns blazing, it may have been a dozen or more. When I look at ten years of war and fewer than 5,000 deaths, I tend to think the officers in charge of these units know what they’re doing. They’ve done a remarkable job of holding casualties down to levels that seem impossible.

While none of us kown and may never know due to the transparency of this govt.

But we do know this: The WH and the world that had access and that is alot, watched this unfold in real time. The POTUS was fully informed, if he was not either he or some should be in PRISON for this action.

We have a group of people requesting support, ANY KIND of support, trains, boat, plane they did not care, this unfolded over 8 hrs.

THIS Combat career soldier SAY HELL NO!!! This is America, we do not leave our solider on the battlefield to watch them die, we die saving saving them.

And DO NOT any one give me any BS about they could not asses the situation, we had drone in loiter with a TV camera, we had camera feeds from all over the facility.

The Navy SEAL died doing his job and we should have and my $$$$ say we could have saved them!!!

We have a corrupt and incompetent government run by amateurs so inept they can’t hide their corruption or incompetence regardless how much assistance they receive from mainstream media sources that when not busy ignoring the corruption/incompetence choose to make excuses for it.

The Benghazi fiasco is a complete disgrace from start to finish and a case in point. Starting with not having adequate security present - in fact, even drawing down security assets in spite of recent attacks on the US embassy and increasing hostility on the ground, as reported to our State Dept by none other than our deceased ambassador - and finishing with the on-going cover up designed to hide the GROSS screw up.

Anyone hear the msm demanding answers from the administration? No!! BTW - Obama is on MTV answering a question about Bob Marley. But, I digress. Obama continues to get away with, “We’re investigatting the matter and we will find out who attacked the embassy and bring them to justice”.

Yeah, right. And while we’re speaking of justice let’s bring Obama, Biden and Hillary to justice by throwing their sorry, lying and corrupt asses out by way of the ballot on Nov. 6!!

Did you know that on Sept 11th there was not even a published security alert by the WH to outposts across the ME.

Guess the Muslim in the WH WANTED to leave the doors open!!!

What does, “I take full responsibility”, mean when the ones uttering those words won’t tell the relatives of the slain what happened?

On Friday’s “America Live” on the Fox News Channel, Chip Woods, the father of slain Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods said the lack of response from the Obama administration on Sept. 11, 2012 showed “cowardice.” And he labeled as “murderers” the administration officials who stalled the decision to act immediately to the terrorist attack that claimed his son’s life, and lied about it afterward.

While Woods disapproves of the White House’s response to the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, he told host Megyn Kelly that his decision to speak out had nothing to do with politics.

“This is not about politics,” Woods said. “If it were about politics it would dishonor my son’s death. This has to do with honor, integrity, justice.”

Despite three separate orders to “stand down” during the attack, Woods’ son went to the consulate to try and save the U.S. ambassador.

“This news that he disobeyed his orders does not surprise me,” Woods said. “My son was an American hero. And he was going — he had the moral strength to do what was right even if that would professionally cost him his job, even if it could potentially cost him his life. He was a hero who was willing to do whatever was necessary to respond to their cries for help.”

“If in fact those people in the White House were as courageous and had the moral strength that my son Ty had, immediately within minutes of the first attack they would have given permission — not denied permission — for those C-130s to have gone up there.”

“I don’t know much about weapons,” he continued. “But it’s coming out right now that they actually had laser targets focused on the mortars that were being sent to kill my son and they refused to pull the trigger. They refused to send those C-130s. To me — I’m an attorney. This may not meet the legal test of murder, but to me that is not only cowardice, but those people who made the decision, and who knew about the decision and lied about it are murderers of my son.”

“That’s a very strong statement for me to make,” he conceded, “but for their benefit they need to clear their conscience, they need to stand up and they need to change the direction of their lives. And I want to say right now, you know who you are. I totally forgive you. But I hope years from now, you change the direction of your life for your benefit.”

Fox did a timeline.
Two of the four men were already dead by the time Woods disobeyed orders and charged in. There was no one to save at that point. The other person killed was another former SEAL, that was in a firefight at a different point of the compound.

Two of the four were already dead before anyone could do anything. And a third died because he deviated from the plan. The command at that compound appears to have been correct. They prevented US casualties.

Facts Increasingly Show White House Misled on Benghazi
by Chuck Pfarrer
Breitbart.com/Big-Peace
26 Oct 2012, 4:12 AM PDT

It was now 10:05 PM in Libya—and the attack was still in progress. A quick reaction force comprised of sixty Libyans and four Americans deployed from the consulate annex and arrived at the ambassador’s compound. They found it ablaze and on the verge of being overrun.

In Washington, the real time reportage continued. At 4:54 PM Washington Time (10:54 PM in Benghazi), the State Department Operations Desk sent a second email titled “Update 1: US Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi,” informing the White House that a response team was on site and was attempting to locate missing personnel.

On the ground in Benghazi, the rescuers were able to extract two security officers who had barricaded themselves into the compound’s command center. As flames gutted the residences, they began to search the burning buildings for Ambassador Stevens and Information Specialist Sean Smith. Smith’s body was located and placed into an armored SUV. After slackening, heavy fire again began to rake the consulate. Unable to locate Ambassador Stevens and in serious danger of being cut off, the rescue team prepared to force its way through the circling attackers.

Informing the annex by radio, the rescuers began a perilous journey back across town. Ambushed repeatedly, their armored vehicle survived a grenade attack before it finally limped into the safety of the walled annex some time after 11 o’clock. …

It was now after one on the morning in Benghazi. At the consular annex, American security officers had deployed to the roof of the building and were engaging snipers who had enveloped their position from the north and west. At approximately 2AM, mortars began to chuff out of the darkened city. They soon had the annex building registered, and an 82mm mortar round struck the roof, killing navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. The same shell severely wounded another American security officer.

Tyrone Woods, whom you are curiously hasty “in your zeal to attack” as accomplishing nothing while getting himself and a comrade killed, was part of the group who rescued 2 men from the residences and retrieved 1 body, between the hours of 10PM and 11PM (their local time). It was some three hours after returning to the consular annex (and some four hours after DC received the first e-mail about the attack) that, while defending the consular annex, Woods and fellow Seal Glen Doherty were killed. While they were killed, their defense contributed to the saving of the many who did survive, including the two he and his group rescued from the residences.

… in essence stating that dozens of men in uniform knowingly watched the situation transpire and for no reason, chose to do nothing? I do not believe this is the case.

The ones who gave the, “Stand down,” order were in Washington. I suspect they wore suits, not uniforms, however, but, yes, I believe they either froze or refused to send readily available, potentially effective, assistance … while watching (metaphorically - by e-mails - or literally - by video from the drone overhead) the 5-8 hours-long attack transpire.
Tyrone Woods, whom you are curiously hasty “in your zeal to attack” as accomplishing nothing while getting himself
I’m not attacking him. I think he did what he thought was best. Which, considering how it played out, tends to demonstrate that what the commanders on the ground suggested was correct. I believe he was heroic. But that heroism can also lead to more soldiers suffering the same fate as Woods.

It said that he was killed while deviating from mission orders. Which is why there was no backup. Your article does not say he was following orders when he was killed. Could you provide a source for me that says he was?

Are you saying that ALL of those troops engaged in that were going against orders from the White House? Because if so, then you are correct that I misunderstood. My understanding was that he was going against orders from local tactical command. Was the local tactical command issuing orders contrary to the White House and he was following local command? If so, he was right. That is not what I have seen in any of these articles.

I’ll take Fox News over Breitbart.

The hazard of this tactic is that sometimes it’s easy to find sources that either confirm the information source being denigrated, or that may have been the sources underlying the denigrated information:

Ambassador Died in Smoke While Agents Searched for Him
By David Lerman

Oct 9, 2012 9:00 PM PT

Then a so-called quick reaction security team, housed in an annex about 1.2 miles (1.9 kilometers) from the compound, arrived.

As the additional agents tried to secure the building’s perimeter, they also made repeated attempts to find Stevens. One agent took off his shirt, dipped it into the compound’s swimming pool, and put it back on before heading into the smoke-filled building, the two officials said.

Fearing for their safety, the agents decided they had to evacuate the compound and get to the annex. They piled into the armored vehicle with Smith’s corpse and made their way out the main gate, the two officials said.

With traffic clogging the road, the vehicle was going about 15 miles an hour when a group of men met them and signaled for them to turn. The armored vehicle then was attacked with AK-47 rifle fire and hand grenades. The vehicle kept rolling with two flat tires.
Firing Positions

It eventually reached the annex, where agents took up firing positions on the roof. The annex then took intermittent fire from AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades for several hours, the officials said.

Reinforcements from Tripoli, some 400 miles away, who had been called when the attack began, then arrived and made their way to the annex.

At about 4 a.m., the two officials said, the annex took mortar fire. Some rounds landed on the roof, killing two agents and severely wounding another. Tyrone S. Woods and Glen A. Doherty, two former Navy SEALs working as security personnel, were the other Americans killed in Benghazi.

Not exactly a Right-Wing source, eh?!

US military’s response questioned in wake of deadly Libya consulate attack
By Jennifer Griffin
Published October 25, 2012

An unarmed U.S. Predator drone already was performing surveillance missions over Libya when the attack on the consulate in Benghazi began at 9:40 p.m. local time. Shortly after the attack, the drone moved into position over the compound.

A quick reaction force from the CIA annex a mile away was sent to help the ambassador and others at the consulate. It eventually returned to the annex with all of the survivors and Sean Smith, a State Department official who had been killed, but not with Ambassador Stevens.

The fighting at the consulate was over within an hour, according to recently leaked State Department emails obtained by Fox News. Officials in Washington reading those cables may have thought at the time that the attack was over, but it is now clear this was a two-pronged assault on two separate locations, spanning more than six hours.

At 4 a.m. local time – 6 hours and 20 minutes after the initial attack began – former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were killed at the CIA annex by a mortar shell. The machine gun they were firing was caked in blood, suggesting they continued fighting after being hit.

Since you have some sort of confidence in Fox News …

Looks like the one apparent error in the Breitbart article is that they put Woods’ and Doherty’s death at ~2AM instead of ~4AM, which makes the Obama Administration’s inaction all the more stark. But aside from possibly being too kind to Obama - maybe the writer didn’t have the most current info - the Breitbart.com writer seems to have been well-informed.

So, my original post holds up. Woods’ rescue group did rescue survivors from the consulate (who likely would have been killed) and did get back to the annex. Woods and Doherty did die while participating in an organized defense of the annex, some 5 hours (rather than some 3 hours) after returning from their rescue of people at the consulate. Woods (and Doherty?) may have disobeyed orders by rescuing the survivors from the consulate, but that was irrelevant to their own deaths; OTOH, there are survivors alive today due to their rescue; and there are likely more survivors from the annex than there would have been, due at least in part to their defense of the annex.

 1. Breitbart, while a good news source is NOT a primary news collection agency outside the US. They depend upon news feeds, Fox is as good as it gets and Jennifer Griffin is one of the very best they have for international news.

“Tyrone Woods, whom you are curiously hasty “in your zeal to attack” as accomplishing nothing while getting himself
I’m not attacking him. I think he did what he thought was best. Which, considering how it played out, tends to demonstrate that what the commanders on the ground suggested was correct. I believe he was heroic. But that heroism can also lead to more soldiers suffering the same fate as Woods.”

 1. There were NO COMMANDERS on the ground, Tyrone WAS on the ground, he made a decision based upon real time, visual data, when it called for help, help should have been dispatched IMMEDIATELY if not SOONER.

HEY FOLKS, ANYONE on this forum every call your direct support Artillery and ask for Arty 50 meters in front of your location? You think that catches the ATTENTION of the Fire Direction Control center…YOU THINK??? They will call back to confirm you are calling for Arty on YOUR LOCATION…

*This is Inlaid Speeder 36 ROGER CONFIM battery of 6 Hotel Echo on my location, we are getting our asses kicked and in expecting be overrun OVERRUN

This is a REAL transmission from a Pfc FO, on the ground where the chit is HITTING THE FAN…and that was NOT the only time I had to do it. The guy on the ground where is at makes the call, not some arm chair warrior some place else, anyone who believes different if full of CRAP
Woods (and Doherty?) may have disobeyed orders by rescuing the survivors from the consulate, but that was irrelevant to their own deaths
You’re right, I got that part mixed up. They died while defending the annex, which is where they should have been.

Two of the four were already lost before any reinforcements could have arrived. Thus I would say the only potentially preventable deaths would be the two SEALS.

So my closing question would be, can you state with confidence, that had more forces been sent to engage the attackers, that there would certainly be fewer total American deaths, with no possibility of an equal or greater number? And that this would have been unquestionable at the time?

#16

Because they were not sent until after 2 people were already dead we’ll never know. I do know that 4 or 5 highly trained individuals can make a HUGE difference.

Mike Durrant was saved because 2 highly trained individuals acted.

I just want to make one little comment. It is interesting that BO made an immediate announcement in front of the cameras about his concern for people’s safety in the path of the hurricane and even cutting his campaigning to perform in front of the cameras. My question is: where was he on Sept. 11th when the Americans in Benghazi were being murdered? Where was his announcement of concern? Oh, oh…I know,…he was too busy gathering money in Vegas… He makes me so angry I could honestly bust a blood vessel! :fuming: :angry26: :firing:
