Government Officials Can Still Own Assault Weapons Under Feinstein Bill

#1

Weapons used by government officials and law enforcement will not be prohibited by the law proposed by the California Democrat, which would prohibit the sale, manufacture and importation of 158 specifically named semi-automatic weapons and ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Any weapons legally owned before the bill’s enactment would also be exempt, although those firearms would have to be registered in a national database.

In addition, more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles and manually operated firearms would also be exempt.

Government Officials Can Still Own Assault Weapons Under Feinstein Bill

This is just the opening salvo in which all those exempted guns will have to be registered and ultimately confiscated.

So any government official is exempted–when have we seen this before? Oh yeah congress that exempts themselves from the laws they impose on the citizens.

This is totally backwards!
The Second Amendment gives non-government, non-politician, Citizens the right to bear arms against the very people Feinstein’s bill allows to bear arms.
She wants to disarm the citizenry and arm the politicians - WARNING! WARNING! - VERY VERY BAD!!

Socialism is for the people, not the Socialists.

Typical Feinstein; ban them for us, but not her…

Finally, the bill includes a number of exemptions: It exempts more than 2,200 hunting and sporting weapons; any gun manually operated by a bolt, pump, lever or slide action; any weapons used by government officials and law enforcement; and any weapons legally owned as of the date of the bill’s enactment.

Representatives do not “use” guns, so they are not exempt. It’s for police, park rangers, stuff like that.

Guess semi auto shotguns are off the table then

#7

Why would that be the case? I don’t think they fit into this at all.

Is this supposed to be a rebuttal? How is a representative or president someone who fits the description of a government official who uses guns?

Here’s the actual text, since you don’t believe me:

(4) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to—

(A) the importation for, manufacture for, sale to, transfer to, or possession by the United States or a department or agency of the United States or a State or a department, agency, or political subdivision of a State, or a sale or transfer to or possession by a qualified law enforcement officer employed by the United States or a department or agency of the United States or a State or a department, agency, or political subdivision of a State, for purposes of law enforcement (whether on or off duty), or a sale or transfer to or possession by a campus law enforcement officer for purposes of law enforcement (whether on or off duty);

It says law enforcement.
