This tends to be a day of enjoying the Thanksgiving traditions such as the wonderful food, fellowship, relaxation, parades and the mad rush on Thursday night/Friday morning. Definitely enjoy those things, but also take time to give thanks to God. Compared to the holiness of God we are all deserving of Hell due to our vile sin nature. But, in His goodness and mercy, God provided salvation by the Lamb of God, the Lord Christ bearing our sin and imputing His righteousness to all who repent and believe. For those who repent and believe, God has given us new life. By Christ we have been set free from sin and can live a life in obedience and pleasing to Him and because of Christ as the only means of salvation we have eternal life with God rather than eternal condemnation. The Thanksgiving traditions are truly enjoyable, but our relationship with God and salvation through Christ is the most joyous thing imaginable in which we truly need to give thanks.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
