In Texas it's ok to kill a hooker if she won't have sex with you.

Texas Says It’s OK to Shoot an Escort If She Won’t Have Sex With You

A jury in Bexar County, Texas just acquitted Ezekiel Gilbert of charges that he murdered a 23-year-old Craigslist escort—agreeing that because he was attempting to retrieve the $150 he’d paid to Lenora Ivie Frago, who wouldn’t have sex with him, his actions were justified.
Gilbert had admitted to shooting Frago in the neck on Christmas Eve 2009, when she accepted $150 from Gilbert and left his home without having sex with him. Frago, who was paralyzed by the shooting, died several months later.
Gilbert’s defense argued that the shooting wasn’t meant to kill, and that Gilbert’s actions were justified, because he believed that sex was included as part of the fee. Texas law allows people"to use deadly force to recover property during a nighttime theft."
The 30-year-old hugged his defense attorneys after the “not guilty” verdict was read by the judge. If convicted, he could have faced life in prison. He thanked God, his lawyers, and the jury for being able to “see what wasn’t the truth.”

So if my sink is busted and I call a plumber and he works on it and says its fixed and I pay him and it turns out the sink is still busted and he refuses to refund me, I can shoot him, Goody!

Why Ezekiel Gilbert’s Acquittal Proves the Lunacy of Texas’s Gun Laws | Vanity Fair

After the killer heard the verdict, he hugged his lawyers and cried. Then he went outside, where he spoke with reporters. There, he thanked God for his acquittal.

Now why doesn’t that surprise me?

Services not rendered, she was stealing his money. Open game to me.

Of course, he should be jailed for hiring a prostitute anyways.

Pro prostitution folks need to sit through a few hours of human trafficking workshops and learn what goes on. Far too often prostitutes are not doing it because they want to.

Im not sure what type of plumbers you hire

#5

No, that is not what they said. They said that she was stealing from him, therefore the shooting was justified.

Dissatisfaction with services rendered is not the same as taking payment and not rendering services agreed upon.
Ok, In Texas I order a Pizza and they put mushrooms on it when I didn’t order mushrooms and they refuse to refund my money I can kill the owner. It’s disgusting this guy isn’t punished for killing another human being.

Did you graduate from the trekky school of bad analogies?

What should happen then, just let people rob you and hope the police can catch them? That isnt how Texas works.
Justified in Texas but not truly justified. Great reason to kill a hooker.

#9

She stole from him, he shot her, she died form the wounds(it sounds like). Is it justified…probably not but what she did was no more justified. If anything i would bring him up on charges for hiring a prostitute. Justice has only been half served in this case so far.

Well, I guess you should not come down South. Most of y’all up there don’t like how we think.
Yeah, instead of treating it as a broken contract (which it was), they treat it like a robbery because she’s a sex worker. I once was denied a refund of my money for services not rendered at blockbuster. you think those 12 slack jawed yokels would have found me not guilty, you know, if I shot that assistant manager? Texas should be returned to Mexico prompt.

#12

okay

I believe the Civil War proved that we could come and take Texas anytime we wanted.
But honestly I don’t think he should have shot a women for not having sex with him, or even for stealing $150, it doesn’t sound like she was threatening his safety so I’m not seeing much of a self defense argument.

#14

They both broth the law. BooHoo!Whine about Texas all we want we aren’t going away. Here’s a quarter, call somebody who cares!

#15

He should of at least recieved manslaughter. This guy is walking for killing another human being that he invited into his house for illegal reasons in the first place. How is it even theft? There are service where men merely pay for the company women, no sex involved. Did he have it in writing that she would sleep with him? This is disgusting.

#16

Justice is never fair and who knows there might be a prosecutor who is planning to bring him up on charges. We don’t know and nor do you. If the man walks then justice has not be carried out fully. To mock Texas as a who for the actions of a judge and jury is ridiculous and intellectually dishonest.

#17

Slack jawed yokels? Well, damn them to Hell for following the law!

There’d be less thievery if we shot more thieves. I think it’s a good thing.

This is just his EXCUSE to be intentionally obtuse and mock southerners.
