Student journalists at Ithaca College want their professors to incorporate diversity and inclusion into class discussions “in every area of academia.”
In an editorial Wednesday, The Ithacan notes that eight administrators, including the president, have stepped down in the past year under pressure from student protesters, leaving a leadership void that the editors believe must be filled by the faculty.
“The topics of diversity, inclusion, and oppression…took center stage last semester, but they remain areas of discussion many students still do not know much about,” the editors complain. “If students are to become the well-rounded critical thinkers this college wants them to be, it is professors who have the most influence and responsibility to teach them.

I gather what these student want taught is hate toward their fellow man instead of actually learning the subject of the class which will help them in their hopefully quest for a job in the future. Some students in my reading even request grades not be issued because that is aggressive behavior on the part of the school.

Funny this reminded me I received a book from one of the colleges which highlighted taking classes in which you would get no grade. I do not believe it was the same as my reference in the previous paragraph.

When I stepped off that plane from SEATAC to Dallas Tx my father said to me" Well son, what are you going to do now? Daddy you were RIGHT I NEED an education and I am going to college.

So I left the DMZ of Vietnam for a college campus, I was 22 years old, it was 1969 and anti war was in full bloom.

We had plenty of liberal profs and one of them taught a class I had signed up for, he said he was not going to give grades. I raised my hand, he called on me and I stood up and said NO, you going to giver grades, I signed up for this class, I paid my MY MONEY to learn what you are teaching and I want that grade! Then another student chimed in and yes he to wanted a grade for his work, then some more and the Prof gave in and we all got grades!

epilog: I remembered his name and about a year ago I found him on line. I sent him an e mail an asked if he remembered me…he said HE DID! Still an ever farther left loon.

How do you push “diversity” into calculus, physics, chemistry? These topics are the same regardless of one’s color or ethnicity.

Back in the late 1960s a graduate student who was teaching a class in European history told us that those subjects, along with engineering, were among the “inferior courses” of study that one could pursue in college. So that’s your answer. The sciences are for “knuckle draggers” so far as some of the humanities people are concerned.

Now those leftwingers are folks who have taught the younger generation to be “socially aware,” which mostly translates to victimhood and socialism. This is why so many of these kids get degrees and end up living in their daddy’s basement.

Some years ago the people who were running the public schools in Massachusetts found out that there were teachers in the classrooms with a college degree who could barely read. A conservative Democrat, John Silber, pushed to get them fired. He was able to do that for as long he had some influence.

How can you graduate from college when you can barely read? The answer has something to do with “affirmative action,” but that’s not politically correct and therefore can’t be raised as an issue. [/FONT]

Hard core libtards don’t take classes like that. They take courses in Social working and ethnic diversity, and the feminist critique of Christianity, or the marxism after Marx, or how to appease muslim and other butchers 101. That kind of daffy senseless stupidness.

[/quote]I was on a site with another fellow where there was one who claimed to be a English teacher who also taught politics according to him. I had many conversations with him and he even tried to tell me he was not a liberal but a progressive and even posted links he claimed were conservative. We all know how conservative the huffington post is or at another link straight from a liberal newspaper.

We HAVE so many liberals in schools because of the so-called “colleges of education”–an academic “discipline” that dates back to the 1940’s…post-war. They have been sanctuaries for college students without the intellects to manage the sciences, medicine or engineering. They’ve always been populated by “professors” or “instructors” who are themselves ultra-“progressives.” That’s by design, by the way. Don’t buy it? Read “The Communist Manifesto” sometime. Getting control of a country’s education system is HIGH on the list of things to do if you want to “convert” a country to socialism.
