Let them eat cake

One phenomena has stalked Obama through out his presidency which is his penitence for having a good time at the expense of Americans who have to pay for his partying and ignoring the plight of Americans. While he has told Americans to tighten their belts and to use less energy his own actions have been just the opposite.

I refer to Obama as the partier in chief and there is good reason for that. Obama likes a good time and likes to play while others are doing their jobs. His disassociation with the realities he imposes on Americans with his promoting higher costs through his having agencies stifle business and the economy.

Here is the latest example of the shenanigans of a president who parties while Americans are losing homes and their livelihoods.

White House threw secret ‘Alice in Wonderland’ bash during recession

Obama’s White House Tea Party - NYPOST.com

While this article is from the New York Post, their source is a book by a New York Times reporter. The Post is owned by the eeeeee-vil Rupert Murdoch, but the Times is the heartland of the MSM. I wonder … how long have Slimes and other MSM “reporters” been covering up this bit of Obamian tone-deafness?

In terms of vacation days, it has to be said that Bush had spent more than twice as many by this point in his term (and that was during/after 9/11). But it’s certainly tone-deaf. Having moved to the District, I was surprised at how insulated it seemed from the troubles of the rest of the country. Of course, I’d never lived in any large city before, but you would never know there was a recession going on by the looks of things here.
Dingleberries . Oh look a democrat to boot to come educate us. Not surprising. I have a feeling that you are buddies with a couple of other members who have been promoting nonsense here lately.

Ugh, please don’t start with the paranoia. I had never met anyone on this forum before I registered two days ago.

Few if any of Bush’s “vacations” were working vacations - in other words, not truly vacations, but working from home.
Excuse me but speaking of paranoia you should check why you decided to come to a republican forum to educate us on how evil we are for not accepting your beliefs.

I’ve already said that I don’t think you’re evil, Sam. I don’t know why you keep saying that.

:popc1::eusa_boohoo::asleep:

No, you just think we’re stupid or ignorant, and have come here to educate and enlighten us.

FFS, I didn’t say that either.

Look, most of us are wrong about a lot of things. This is one thing that you happen to be wrong about. Big freaking deal. I don’t think any of you are stupid or ignorant or evil.

No, but you strongly implied it.

Well, I really didn’t mean to. I apologize.

Once or twice it’s occurred to me that I probably should have rephrased certain things in my comments because they sounded a bit too aggressive, but unfortunately, my account still doesn’t have permissions set to let me edit my comments.

Sam makes a lot of these threads. I think there is a racial element to right-wing portrayals of Obama as “partying” through his presidency. Some of it is more blatant, such as when Eric Bolling accused Obama of “chugging 40’s” and having a “hoodlum in the hizzouse.” “It’s not the first time he’s had a hood in the big crib,” Bolling explained.

Right-wing attacks on the Obama family are often pretty disgusting and even perplexing. They are a very admirable family; one can truly say, an ideal American family. Whatever we think of their politics, here are two hard-working people who worked their way up from humble beginnings to form what is by all appearances a remarkably loving and healthy family. The ease of the Obama’s relationship really seems like genuine love and friendship, as opposed to the often painfully strained, awkward, and forced displays of affection which politicians typically engage in with their loved ones.

Moreover, I think they both seem like genuinely good and moral people (especially as far as politicians go), even when I don’t agree with them on policy.

They don’t deserve all of this hatred. Obama is clearly working very hard in an extremely difficult job. He’s not partying his way through office, and the suggestion otherwise is just as absurd as when the left tried to portray Bush as a lazy absentee president. These ridiculous and superficial attacks just make right-wingers look like hateful racists.

I agree with alot of this. While I don’t think that most of it has a racist origin, I do believe that the Obamas have been attacked far too much as people. I’ve read and heard some terrible things said about Michelle; disagreeing with her public stances is fine, but some people have gone too far in my mind (look up Pastor Manning and Michelle on Youtube to see what I’m talking about). Bush was ridiculed alot, but I don’t think that his family was attacked that much. This is of course coupled with the ridiculous conspiracy theories (purported Kenyan citizenship conspiracy theory, allegations that he’s a Muslim [an extremist at that], etc.). He’s done some ill-advised things policy-wise; that’s what his critics should focus on. I’ll admit that humor and personal attacks are a staple of American politics, but it’s sad that conservatives sometimes seem to give the same weight to these as they do to legitimate complaints.
Oh goody anderson calls me a racist not a surprise coming from him. The fact I post articles occasionally from black authors seems to escape him or that I have stated I have blacks in the family but then again this is anderson who is busy worrying about if he is right to kill kids because they are not worthy of anything, at least according to him.

I might add Bush’s daughters were attacked as well as the wife regularly. Bush himself was threatened constantly and people openly said to kill him. Obama if one whispers something he has the secret service out looking for you.

Proud Americans

Speaking in Milwaukee, Wisconsin today, would-be First Lady Michelle Obama said, “for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.” Michelle Obama: “For the First Time in My Adult Lifetime, I’m Really Proud of My Country” - ABC News

President Barack Obama has finished the second leg of his international confession tour. In less than 100 days, he has apologized on three continents for what he views as the sins of America and his predecessors.

Mr. Obama told the French (the French!) that America “has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” toward Europe. In Prague, he said America has “a moral responsibility to act” on arms control because only the U.S. had “used a nuclear weapon.” In London, he said that decisions about the world financial system were no longer made by “just Roosevelt and Churchill sitting in a room with a brandy” – as if that were a bad thing. And in Latin America, he said the U.S. had not “pursued and sustained engagement with our neighbors” because we “failed to see that our own progress is tied directly to progress throughout the Americas.”

By confessing our nation’s sins, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that Mr. Obama has “changed the image of America around the world” and made the U.S. “safer and stronger.” As evidence, Mr. Gibbs pointed to the absence of protesters during the Summit of the Americas this past weekend. And while a fair amount of Americans are out of work and economically bleeding to death not to mention the National Debt…

This would be a blasé bit of news if 90 weren’t such a nice, round number, but, as it is, this represents a record of sorts. Not only did Barack Obama golf on Christmas day, but he hit the links yesterday, too — and that round marked the 90th of his presidency. As Keith Koffler of WhiteHouseDossier.com points out, the time he’s spent on a golf course — about four to five hours a round — is the equivalent of three full months. First Lady Michelle Obama’s trip to South Africa and Botswana last week cost taxpayers well over half a million dollars, possibly in the range of $700,000 or $800,000, according to an analysis by White House Dossier. Mrs. Obama’s South Africa Trip Cost Taxpayers Over $500,000 | The Blog on Obama: White House Dossier

With estimates secured from a host of professionals, city officials and law enforcement, Hawaii Reporter estimates costs to taxpayers will at least include:

Mrs. Obama’s early flight to Hawaii: $63,000 (White House Dossier)
Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii: $1 million (GAO estimates)
Housing in beachfront homes for Secret Service and Seals in Kailua ($1,200 a day for 14 days): $16,800
Costs for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel: $134,400 ($400 per day for 24 staff) - excluding meals and other room costs
Police overtime: $250,000 (2009 costs reported by Honolulu Police Department)
Ambulance: $10,000 (City Spokesperson)
TOTAL COST: $1,474,200

UNKNOWN COSTS

Rental of office building in Kailua on canal
Security upgrades and additional phone lines
Costs for car rentals and fuel for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel (Secret Service imports most of the cars used here to escort the president)
Surveillance before the president arrives
Travel costs for Secret Service and White House staff traveling ahead of the President

Editor’s note per a reader - add another $280,000: Hawaii Reporter was informed that we left out a major expense from this report. The cost of transporting the Presidential limos, helicopters and other support equipment on a USAF C-17 cargo aircraft. The flight time between Andrews AFB and Hawaii is about 10 hours at approximately $7,000 per hour operating cost. Round trip, this would be at least $140,000 per aircraft. (Sometimes there are more than one aircraft for the support equipment). In addition to the limousines and supporting equipment, the United States Marine Corps provides at least one Presidential Helicopter that is also transported to the site via a C-17. Add another round trip for a C-17 per helicopter, along with the cost of pilots, support crews, and test flights for the helicopter. The helicopter is brought along on every Presidential trip even if there are no plans for use, it is kept on standby for the duration of the trip. Hawaii Reporter’s estimate came up at least $280,000 short due to the omission of the C-17 use. Obama’s Million Dollar Hawaiian Vacation: Costs to Taxpayers Detailed | Hawaii Reporter

I won’t even bring up Bill Ayers so far as going after their morals.

Obama’s dealings with his hinky friend have never led him afoul of the law, but they show that, despite his high-minded politics, he was no purer — or no savvier — than Illinois’ biggest hacks in his weakness for a generous contributor. He wouldn’t even say no when Rezko cooked up a deal to help the newly elected senator buy a gracious Georgian-revival home.

Rezko, after all, built part of his fortune by exploiting the black community that Obama had served in the state Senate, and by milking government programs meant to benefit black-owned businesses. But Obama took Rezko’s money even after the businessman was sued by the city of Chicago for failing to heat his low-income apartments, and even after Rezko was caught using a black business partner to obtain a minority set-aside for a fast-food franchise at O’Hare Airport. How close were Barack Obama and Tony Rezko? - 2008 Elections - Salon.com

But of course he never paid attention in church.

Sen. Barack Obama’s pastor says blacks should not sing “God Bless America” but “God damn America.”

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s south side, has a long history of what even Obama’s campaign aides concede is “inflammatory rhetoric,” including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own “terrorism.” Obama’s Pastor: God Damn America, U.S. to Blame for 9/11 - ABC News

There’s a bit to much fodder out there to not have some genuine “misgivings” about his personal positions on issues.

Yep, the Bush’s were constantly attacked, even more so - as far as I can see - than the Obamas.

Alice in wonderland party.

Great.
Hey, you folks, send me some money so I can throw a big crawfish boil when I move into the new house. Oh, none of you are invited though, unless you send me a really large amount of money. We’ll be needing a full press coverage, so send lots of money! No expense will be spared.
By the way, if you don’t send money, you will have your assets seized, or be thrown in jail.
Kthanxbye!
