Marshawn Lynch fined $20,000 for crotch grab during NFC title game

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports in a Facebook post that an NFL official told him, as expected, that the Seattle Seahawks running back has been fined $20,000 by the league for his celebratory groin grab following his 24-yard touchdown run in the NFC Championship Game. Lynch previously was fined $11,050 for pulling the same move during a game against the Arizona Cardinals in December.

Seahawks WR Chris Matthews fined $11,025 for making obscene gesture Posted by Bob Condotta
Turns out it was a busy day of fine levying by the NFL against the Seahawks as it has been learned that receiver Chris Matthews received a $11,025 fine for making an obscene gesture, apparently following Marshawn Lynch’s 24-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s NFC Championship game win over the Packers.
Lynch (in the Tweet below) referred to a fine for a teammate shaking his hand after a touchdown. Indications are that it is the fine levied on Matthews to which Lynch is referring. Matthews was not on the field for the Lynch play but came onto the field to join in the celebration (here’s a picture appearing to show the infraction — essentially, grabbing an area of his body that the NFL would prefer go ungrabbed).
It’s one of three fines given to Seattle players in the game as Lynch was also fined $20,000 for making an obscene gesture following the play and guard J.R Sweezy was fined $8,268 for his unnecessary roughness penalty on Clay Matthews.

But, this is the team God wanted to win!

If only God cared about football. I always laugh when I see these football players acting like they’re involved in some great cosmic struggle in which God has some great stake. And on the off chance God liked football, how would he choose a side?
