New Hampshire votes

Early returns are in from Dixville Notch, Millsfield and Hart’s Location. Too early to call the race  but here they are:

Sanders 17
Clinton 9

Trump 9
Cruz 9
Kasich 9
Fiorina 0
Rubio 0
Bush 0
Christie 0
Carson 0

That ratio on the GOP side sure won’t hold for long.

I agree. However, I think your hopes for a Trump “win” in NH just MAY be dashed.

What time do the NH polls close?

There’s nothing wrong with eminent domain per se. It becomes WRONG when it’s used to the sole benefit of a single entity to the detriment of the property owner. Trump tries to use the idiotic Kelo decision to his benefit. Cruz approved its use to prevent some greedy landowner from holding up a multi-billion-dollar project that benefits the entire State of Texas. Quite a difference.

Eminent Domain is proper to utilize when the government needs property for public USE - NOT public ‘benefit’, such as the taxes that’ll be collected from a PRIVATE business.
Highways and bridges are common examples of its proper use.

I’m not privy to the Keystone Pipeline’s use of eminent domain. Something like that sounds more like “right-of-way” - much like privately owned electric companies have - through people’s property, but not to where they’ll need to purchase the home or property.

Like I said, I don’t know the facts, (something that’s oddly hard to come by in the “information age”), and I’m not defending Cruz.

Nor am I defending Trump. If someone owns property, it is HIS to sell - or not - depending on if the buyer agrees to the seller’s demands.

Gotta add: Trump has the idea of eminent domain wrong, but from what I’ve heard tell, he’s never abused it by going to the government to force someone out of his home.
If I’m wrong on that, then, by all means, correct me.

First of all, its never to the detriment of the property owner because they are offered tons of money for their property. I sure wish Trump wanted MY property.

Second: It can be argued that developing a major project - a Casino in this case - creates tons of jobs and tons of revenue for the community which in turn will pay for public works, schools, roads, etc.

Now, I am not up on the details of Trump’s particular issue. But what do we know about what the community wanted. Anything?

Bush and Kasich are out today making last ditch efforts by pandering to left leaning independents. Kasich claims he is to the left of Hillary, Bush promises never to blame Obama and roll back Citizens United, even if it means amending the constitution.

Bush: 'I will not blame Barack Obama for a single thing

Shorter Kasich: ‘I’m to the left of Hillary.’ | RedState

If either of these weasels gets the nomination I will not vote for them in the general election PERIOD

Those two scare me. So does Rubio. Actually, any of ‘all of the above’ scare me besides Cruz or Trump.

If ANYone out of the two manages to get nominated, count me out. I will NOT be party to delivering yet more hardy liberalism to our country.

Hillsdale College will send anyone a copy of the Constitution of the United States of America, free of charge.
They also teach an online class called, “The Constitution 101”, free of charge.

I don’t think the “weasels” will get nominated. LOL. I feel bad for Kasich though: He went from being on the team that balanced the budget in Congress, to doing a pretty good job in Iowa, to being a weasel. Boy thats rough.

But this Bush promise never to blame Obama? What the hell is that all about. Reminds me of McCain getting booed for telling his audience not to say bad things about Obama. Pure establishment hack.

At first glance, Bush’s and Kasich’s actions didn’t make any political sense to me. Even if they managed to sway enough left leaning independents to land a 2nd or 3rd place “victory” these statements will be used against them in any future debates, interviews and primary campaign ads. Their future in the GOP is over. Call me paranoid but I think it is possible that their orders are coming from RINO-CENTCOM. The strategy being to pass up Cruz in NH, pushing him down to 4th or 5th place and possibly ending his chances. Bush and Kasich will then drop out after South Carolina and the RINOs will consolidate behind Rubio. The timing of coming out with this crap on election day is to hopefully keep their existing supporters in the dark and appeal to undecided moderates who may be looking closely at late breaking events. In fact these statements are so outrageous that some Bush and Kasich supporters may not even believe it at first; figuring it to be yet another campaign dirty trick.

Wow TerryOfromCA , you’ve changed your avatar! No longer supporting Trump? Just remember that his strategy is to use political theatre. I believe that he sincerely wants to make America great again, that he will faithfully enforce immigration, that he will actually secure our borders and that he will be successful in his negotiations and deals, be they with Congress, the Chinese or anyone else. Regardless of what the polls say now I think he is the most electable since he is is a fighter and he will not run a politically correct gentlemanly (losing) general election campaign.

Oh, I still support Trump for sure. But I figured everyone here knows that by now so there’s no use in continuing to swing the banners around. I decided to go with a little more basic theme.

No, private development is not what emminent domain is for, no matter how many jobs might be created. And Bernie Sanders to the contrary not withstanding, it’s neither Government’s place to “create” jobs, nor is it a good idea to enable them to try. And it isn’t about what the community “wants;” that’s another issue in Bernie Sanders’ platform.

Talk about him not being presidential or DC street-wise, but Carson doesn’t scare me at all. Would he make mistakes? Sure; the same as any man. But I trust him more than the rest, and a LOT more than some.

I know that private development is not what emminent domain is for, but I also know there might be times when they might overlap. What if a city is in desperate need of housing for example, and a private developer says he’ll build low rent apartment buildings. But one tiny shanty shack with a guy playing the banjo on the porch stands in the way. What about that.

Then it’s his to sell - or not -whichever he so chooses. It’s HIS land, not anybody else’s.

The PRIVATE DEVELOPER - who is going to be the OWNER of said land - is not allowed to use eminent domain to take anyone’s property.
