Clannad, “I will find you”.

Beautiful video in Christ Church cathedral. In case you are wondering, the two stanzas in foreign languages are Mohican and Cherokee.

Soviet March (2008) from Command & Conquer Red Alert 3

Our Soviet Union subjugates the whole world
Like a gigantic bear from the East.
The sheep wander aimlessly, without any cause,
Yet the Soviet bear’s on the hunt.

Our brotherhood’s a good life, Our generosity is without compare.
All those with us are strong,
All those against us, beware.
It’d be a shame if we had hardships.

To all those around us, it’s not worth your while
If we were to turn you to ashes.
We thank you profoundly, and bow to you deeply,
From the mightiest nation in all the world.

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

Joan Baez (my favourite leftist). She recorded “We Shall Overcome” in Farsi supporting the 2009 Iranian Green Revolution which was a damn sight more than our government or president did.

Joan will make her final tour next year (age 77). I wonder if this will be in the playlist? Might start a riot.

LE ENFANT -VANGELIS, (Best Hubble Space Telescope Images)

I never seem to tire of images from Hubble. I heard the music first in an excellent Australian movie “The Year of Living Dangerously” with Mel Gibson, Sigourney Weaver and Helen Hunt. Set in politically turbulent Indonesia in the 60’s. Highly recommended.
