NRO: Rand Paul Embraces Israel

**Rand Paul Embraces Israel **

Rand Paul is describing an episode from his trip to Israel in January: “I went to a Shabbat,” he tells me, “it was the first time I’ve ever done that, and I had a wonderful time. I went to the yeshiva, and all the young men were singing and dancing, they had me dancing around the table. I hope I was singing something that was fine — it was all in Hebrew, so I had no idea what I was singing.”

If there’s any doubt that Rand Paul isn’t his father’s son on the issue of Israel, that trip and his posture afterwards should have ended it. He returned to the U.S. to tell Breitbart News, “Absolutely we stand with Israel. What I think we should do is announce to the world — and I think it is pretty well known — that any attack on Israel will be treated as an attack on the United States.”

Sounds like a commercial to me.

When RAND endorses standing by Israel WHEN they NEED to bomb Iran…THEN I’ll know where he really stands.

Rand has repeatedly said that if Israel feels the need to bomb Iran then they shouldn’t have to ask the US for permission. It’s not our choice to make and it’s not our right to meddle in their affairs and national security.

That said, if Israel does attack Iran, the US should stay he **** out of it. We don’t need to be fighting yet another war.

NO…the US should support Israel with bunker busters and military intelligence and satellite info to help them succeed. Furthermore IF the reason that Israel chooses to attack Iran is because time is up and IRAN will momentarily have the bomb…they we should live up to OUR foreign policy statements of both of the last Presidents and work WITH Israel to insure that Iran does NOT get that bomb…even if it means using OUR planes, ships, bombs, missiles to accomplish the objective. IRAN CANNOT BE ALLOWED BY US to get the BOMB.
Your comment is EXACTLY what I meant about knowing exactly where Rand stands. Iran WILL have the bomb before 2016… on that everyone seems to be agreed. If Rand does not support action to take out their capability by supporting either ISRAEL as I indicated OR by supporting our own action if Israel is not solely capable…he will not be nominated or elected. NO CHANCE.

Rand Paul has always been generally fond/supportive of Israel. Definitely more so then his father at a minimum. He’s just not as fanatical about Israel like me :stuck_out_tongue: which is fine, of course. Generally Israelis, and Jewish Republicans like him and are willing to support him in 2016. I know I’d consider him.

I like him 1000% more then Ron Paul.
