Other lyrics to "The Ballad Of Gilligans Island"

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me…
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
Was blind, but now, I see.

You get the idea.

[/quote]You don’t see it? How the “Amazing Grace” lyrics fit the tune of the Ballad of Gilligan’s Island?

I thought that the lyrics could follow the tune but, I wasn’t sure that was what he was after.

Do you want lyrics to fit only Gilligan’s Island, or can you use other tunes to fit different lyrics to?

There are a few that fit Gilligans Island, but why not. Let’s fit different lyrics to other tunes.

Off hand, I can only think of a hymn tune - “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” - to which 2 songs have already been set - “I Will Sing the Wondrous Story” and “I Will Sing of My Redeemer,” but I found it also fits this:

Love divine, all loves excelling
Joy of Heav’n to earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,
All thy faithful mercies crown.
Jesus, thou art all compassion,
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation;
Enter every trembling heart.
