This statement is flawed from the get go if you truly believe in small, limited government. The more bills that are passed, the bigger the government gets. Thus, in my opinion, the longer list of bills a congressman has on his resume, the bigger chance he is a big government politicians. What Ron Paul has done:
-Never voted for an unbalanced budget
-Never voted to raise the debt ceiling
-After decades of conversation, politicians are now open to discussing the federal reserves role in the economy
Show me how little pork the saint asked for during his tenure
This was explained in another thread. I’ll just copy/paste what I wrote:
The way the earmark system works is, there is a portion of the federal budget that is set aside for EVERY congressional district (this is not a choice). If the congressman for that district does not appropriate these funds through earmarks, it is given back to the FEDERAL government and SPENT ANYWAYS. If it is going to be spent anyways, why wouldn’t he want to help out his own district by at least giving back some of the tax money they send to washington? And to top it off, he wants to get rid of the whole “earmark system”! But if it’s going to be spent anyways by the federal government, he’s making the best out of a bad situation. Please tell me where he is wrong about this?
Show me those letters he claimed he did not write or see that one of his staff said he had to give premission on.
I’m not sure what you want here…you want to see the letters that he didn’t write? A simple google search will show that. I obviously am not going to change your mind, but he was practicing medicine during this time. He has already admitted that it was a personal oversight error on HIS part, he took the blame, and that he certainly does not believe what those newsletters said.
Tell me how he did not associate with the KKK
Are you serious? The KKK? Show me evidence that he HAS associated with the KKK. He certainly is NOT racist, and as a doctor he treated countless patients who were poor or had no money regardless of skin color.
The Compassion of Dr. Ron Paul - YouTube
His biggest mentor that he has is Ludwig Von Mises, who is Jewish and escaped Nazi Germany, the founder of the Austrian School of Economics. He was one of only a few congressman who stuck up for Israel in 1980 when they bombed Iraq’s nuclear program. This was at a time when Reagan called Israel’s action a “complete tragedy”.
