President Obama just gave $500 million of Your Money to the UN Green Fund

Saw this yesterday and didn’t see it posted here?

Tyrants and dictators, shady international arms dealers, brutal leaders of broken, basket case nations like President for Life Robert Mugabe, will be celebrating today; President Obama just transferred $500 million of US Taxpayer’s money into the new UN Climate Fund.

According to The Guardian;

Obama administration pays out $500m to climate change project

The first chunk of a $3bn commitment made at the Paris climate talks ‘shows the US stands squarely behind climate commitments’, the State Department said

The Obama administration has made a first installment on its $3bn pledge to help poor countries fight climate change – defying Republican opposition to the president’s environmental plan.

Do you think that the following may go hand in hand?

AG Lynch: DOJ Has Discussed Whether to Pursue Legal Action Against Climate Change Deniers

(CNSNews.com) – Attorney General Loretta Lynch acknowledged Wednesday that there have been discussions within the Department of Justice about possibly pursuing civil action against so-called climate change deniers.

“This matter has been discussed. We have received information about it and have referred it to the FBI to consider whether or not it meets the criteria for which we could take action on,” Lynch said at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Justice Department operations.

"Did you notify Congress that you were spending this money on a Green Fund?"
No … We decided that it wasn’t necessary!

#3

The stream of obscenities out of my mouth when I read this would make Donald Trump blush.

#4

I believe this arrogant little bureaucrat that notifying Congress was not necessary. Place the blame at the feet of the GOP majorities in both houses of Congress that voted for the bill that authorized this crap (and probably didn’t even read it).

Time for a tax increase/sarcasm

I agree old dog!

To summarize:

Asked by Senator Cory Gardner if Congress approved the US State Department to divert $500 million to the United Nation’s Green Climate Fund, Deputy Secretary Heather Higgenbottom says: “Did Congress authorize the Green Climate Fund? No. […] We’ve reviewed the authority and the process under which we can do it, and our lawyers and we have determined that we have the ability to do it…

Translation: "We don’t need no steenkin’ “Congress.” “Sue us”

Who controls the money? The House. Who controls the House? Republicans. (Who controls all of Congress? Republicans.)

So it should read, Republicans just gave $500 million of Your Money to the UN Green Fund

500 million dollars is about 6 hours of the government’s current deficit.

This is pretty much par for the course for Congress.

In case you’re wondering … I carry my little

It is easy to loose scope of these large numbers like $500 million, how utterly wasteful they really are. A few down to earth (pun intended) examples:

  1. India, of all places, has put a satellite in orbit around Mars for over a year now on a $74 million dollar budget. This stupid PC boondoggle could have funded that and 7 more missions just like it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Orbiter_Mission

  2. Mars One (an NGO) is planning on manned mission to Mars in 10 years on a $6 billion dollar budget. The money flushed down the toilet from this plus Solyndra could have financed 17% of that proposed venture. Las Vegas puts Mars One at 15:1 at being first human landing on Mars with NASA at 80:1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_One

In contrast our current NASA budget of $19 billion dollars annualy gets us buying rides to the Space Station from the Russians and conducting Moslem outreach!

Mars One is a scam, though. They have severely unrealistic goals.

#13

Plenty of opposing opinions and studies on both sides. Mars One has many hurdles but in the world of Obamacare, government “transparency” and economic “recovery” I wouldn’t quite call it a scam yet.

#14

It doesn’t even have a contract with anyone to build a Rocket or a module. It says it will go to SpaceX, but they haven’t talked with them, and it doesn’t seem they have the future revenue sources to request it.

#15

What kind of “environment-saving” project requires $500 million of tax money?

And, of course, Congress will have no say in any of this.

[/quote]Do not worry the money will end up in one of the guy’s pockets–it is all a scam

Congress voted for the budget that contains this.

Well, He’s about ready to give Castro GITMO. It was just reported that Raul Castro has met with Obama and is pressuring him to give GITMO back to Cuba. I predicted a year ago this would happen before Obama left office. Castro, like every other thug dictator/strong man, has correctly sized up Obama as a punk.

#19

Just watched his news conference with Raul. It was sickening. After making a few lame comments on improving human rights he actually encouraged Castro to comment on areas where America “might have shortcomings”. After he was finished with his part of a multi-part questions directed at him and Castro he reminded Castro that one part of the question asked if he preferred Hillary or Trump! Castro, the slime ball communist dictator, actually gave a presidential answer: “I cannot vote in America.” Barry looked disappointed.

If Obama manages, by hook or by crook, to empty Gitmo of prisoners look out for some “executive action” after election day.

Wow, he actually respected our Constitution, unlike Obama…
